1. There's many things to be learn to be experience but my foundation is not just the Bible but the cornerstone, Jesus(Check the first line of the Boondocks theme).

2. I heard this argument all across academia and the internet. I have spent some of this Christmas breaking looking at both sides of the argument and am stilling at it.

3. I wish my professors would let us read the Bible all day long. They're harsher than some of you guys in the forum but I appreciate it.
1. so if the bible is merely a foundation, why do you follow it so closely if it can't answer everything?

2. dude...wtf is to be discussed. If the bible is wrong on ONE scientific concept, then its not valid. Do you think the bible makes mistakes or not?

3. What do you seriously think you'd gain from reading the bible over other religious books?

if im pikking and choosing, then that would mean i take books by Moses for actual fact, and it would mean i have to believe the world was flooded. and i dont think it was. :manny:

Why was nigggas washing Jesus feet in that 1 story? The last thing I'm trying to touch is another mans feet feel me?

Because it's late I won't look up the Scriptures. Washing of feet of the guests was the custom in the Middle East region because they wore sandals and walked everywhere. When Jesus visited Simon the leper after He healed him, Simon the host, was obligated too wash the feet of his guests. Since He had a high position, he should had enough servants to wash everyone's feet, but it isn't mention He attempted. Jesus feet were washed by Mary Magadelene. She was preparing Jesus's body for death. Simon and Judas were upset of what had transpired. Jesus informed them that it was needed to be done before His death.

The second and most famous occurrence of foot washing happen during the Passover weekend(Both stories are in John). This time it was just disciples and Jesus. Jesus had them prepare the room for foot washing but there wasn't a servant there. Instead Jesus washed all of the feet His disciples. They were shocked their Master was asking like a servant. Peter, the bold disciple, told Jesus He had no right wash his feet. Jesus wanted to show His disciples humility. They were all proud men who came to Jesus to get power, prestige, and be statesmen in His earthly kingdom. Jesus wasn't about that, His plan was to die a sinner's death.

Jesus did this so tthat future generations to continue the process of foot washing with communion to teach us humility and care for our brother's needs. It also takes the place(communion) of having to sacrifice an animal or getting re-baptized every year for ours sin.

1. I believe that has set it was aside for the spiritual nourishment I need.
.
2. I believe it has grammatical mistakes and few words or phrases don't translate properly but I believe that the message inside of it is true.

3. A story of God, even after a rebellion, would risk His throne to save people who don't even love Him. Yeah I'll admit there much I don't understand, but the more I read it, the more I get closer to Him, the more shameful I feel about the sins I did that caused His death, the more I feel glad He would gladly wipe my slate if I could to Him in a yearning heart looking for forgiveness and reconciliation

1. WTF is "spiritual nourishment?" and why is the bible the only way to gain that?

2. So...its flawed? Why would a perfect book have flaws?

3. you're guilty for something you didn't do?

Yo bro I'm heading off to bed man but I'll answer these last three questions.

1. I believe as an individual we have physical, social, mental, and spiritual needs. I placed in this order on what people put emphasis on. We all need to eat and drink to survive. We need to a family and friends to feel loved and appreciate us. We need some good music to calm us down or lift us up after a day. We need spiritual food to help us get through the tough times and bring us up during the good times. I believe in one God and only source of information as a foundation. Though is isn't always the case, my actions and reactions should be based what saith the Lord. I need to eat spiritual food to become spiritually strong.

2. I believe the Holy Spirit has guided scripture throughout the ages. I also believe that scripture is self aware of the issues people would with it. The grammatical errors does not take away from the overall message for the book.

3. If you want to me to be technical, Jesus calls the Devil a murderer before His Death on cross. Sin has entered the hearts of men turning them away from God. I constantly do wicked things against God, others, and myself. I feel no shame or guilt when I'm doing it and feel the worst human after. The tally of my sins grow everyday and my blood isn't physically or spiritually clean to wash them away. Jesus decided that His love for us was greater the suffering He had to face in our behalf. My sins put Jesus on the cross, but God doesn't hold against me nor does hold against anyone. He's like the father in the parable of the prodigal son waiting for us to return to Him no matter how dirty we are.

Yo I want to thank you having this dialogue with me and sharing different opinions and beliefs without any anger or beef. I hope I that I was clear in how I shared things with you man and that you have a good night wherever you are.

I want to thank all those who ask questions, I really appreciate it. It's been a blessing sharing and discussing with the Coli family. I hope to do this again sometime in the future when I'm not busy with school and other projects.

I will not replying to any more questions after this post.

Thanks again for taking the time to just talk and not argue, peace.
