If all the answers are in the bible, why does the world still have questions?
With you being Christian, how do you feel about the mass murders done for Christianity?
Why follow the bible when I was born with common sense?
Thanks for asking man, I'll take the time to answer your questions clearly.
For your first question
1. What The Bible Says:
James 1: 5 - If any of you lack
wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Proverbs: 1: 22 - How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate
knowledge?
Hosea 4:6 - My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge: because thou hast rejected
knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
2. What History/Tradition Says
History dictates that we are to repeat the failures of the past if we do not learn from them. Just as how we can observe that we lack the wisdom and knowledge as individuals and as a society, the same was true. There were things that were made known after the passage of time and events. We still ask questions because there is still much we don't know and things that we haven't learn from the past.
3. How Do I Apply It.
Throughout the Bible and human history God has been more than willing to give men knowledge and wisdom if they ask sincerely. I know I have struggled with doubt because there are I don't know or understand. God did promise that He will things known in the right time. It takes faith to know that God will do as He says.
For your second question:
1. What the Bible Says
Matthew 7: 21 - 23 -
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matthew 5: 43 - 44
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Matthew 5: 19
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
2. What History/Tradition Says
After the deaths of the apostles, the church slowly became to gain political in Roman Empire. It wouldn't be until the 4th century when the emperors of Rome decreed that Christianity to be the state religion and remove the persecution of the followers of Jesus. At the same time pagan traditions creep into the doctrines. It is really clear to see why most of us know that Christmas, Easter, and Halloween makes no sense in a Christian setting. Discrimination of the Jews started long before the formation of the Roman Empire and grew after the rebellion of the Jews and the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. Anti-Semitic views remained strong because of Roman hatred of the pesky Jews and Christians who wished to remove any association from the Jews. The Catholic Church received ultimate power after 476 AD after the fall of the Western Half of the Roman Empire. They did wicked things to those inside and outside of the church. Though things have progressed from the Middle Ages, the Protestants didn't learn anything from there predecessors and were guilty of same crimes as the Catholic Church.
3. How Do I Apply It
God never planned for death to enter the human scope. When sin entered the world, man was doomed to die. The value of human life diminished and lives have been lost over the conquering and stabilization of power, wealth, and prestige. God promises to not only protect His people, to right every wrong every right, and reveal why things happen in accordance to human history. This does not remove the pain and suffering cause immediately. I hope one day the church would own up to it's mistakes and honestly try to help those in need but I know this will not come because the end is coming and things have and will get worse. The only constant is God make things right in His time.
For your last question:
1. What The Bible Says
Proverbs 4: 5 - 8
5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
2. What History/Tradition Says
Just like the first question, there are things we do not know and understand. That does not mean we are not sensible or contain common sense. The phrase "common sense" is not found in the Bible and was popularize by Thomas Paine. Every philosopher, parent, preacher, and teacher can attest that we are still learning and common sense can take us so far, though many have stated society has lacked common sense for years.
3. How Do I Apply It
God has given me a mind to understand complex things. We were made higher than any other organism in the world. In the Genesis 2 we were given dominion over the world. However in the next chapter, man fell and the connection between God and man was broken. I believe God has given more than enough knowledge to hold a conversation, do complex tasks, and become better people. He desires us to not to just be good enough though. He has gifts ready to pour to anyone ask with a sincere heart and that includes wisdom.
