Yeah as long as it stays in minority communities they don't have an incentive to put effort into cases. Also if it doesn't have an affect on predominantly yt areas it isn't important. As soon as that gun violence steps over that redline, that's when it becomes all hands on deck. The mayor of Cleveland had a press conference about holding prosecutors accountable because the homicide rate has gotten out of control, then a week later we had a mass shooting in downtown Cleveland. :francis:

The dude shot into a crowd outside of a club and honestly the only reason he got caught within 2 days is because a restauranter offered a $50k reward for his arrest.

We also had a recent incident in which a 21 year old was caught with a bunch glock switches.

I'll follow these cases and see what happens.

To be fair I don't think that is always the case. Police and detectives have a lot of cases to deal with from those areas (Black areas, hoods where the violence happens) and they get very little cooperation from the community (which is a another issue).

Yes, blame the cops when they fukk up and abuse people, but people tend to blame them for everything which is ridiculous. I see people on these news stories blaming the police instead of the fukking people who did the crime!!

Did you know human senses actually collect data like algorithms? They really dont get enough credit. What do your eyes, ears, nose, touch, taste and gut tell you about how to solve gun violence?

Mines say to take the guns:respect:?

Take the guns from the legal owners? Or go into the hoods of Chicago, Detroit, Philly, LA, NO, etc. and tell them you’re taking their illegally trafficked guns? And who is suppose to be confiscating the guns? Police? Military??

Everyone, local police should be good enough in most cases.

You take most of the guns out of the equation by making a law. 5 years in prison for every gun we catch you with. And up to 1 year for every bullet we catch you with. And then we will offer money to people who tip us off on who has the guns. So most people are going to give up their guns because they dont want those problems. Then you have those who will hide their guns and ammo so far out of site it wont be an issue. And of course you have those who will die clinging to their guns. But youve basically taken the guns off the streets and out of the equation.

If you wanna throw people a bone, you could at least increase the penalties on being caught with a gun outside. Obviously this has alot of potential to backfire on black youth. But I believe the youth are smart enough to keep their guns in the house. If they knew just getting caught with one was 5:francis:

And if you are dumb enough to bring one outside anyway. I bet you wont have a hundred round drum extension on it. Folks will be outside with 1-3 bullets in they guns. Or just the gun with no bullets in it:respect:

A gun registry makes it possible to track where criminals got their gun from, which shouldn't hurt the legit dealers at all. It will only impact the ones who are running guns to criminals who can't legally buy. Why are you against that?

A gun registry gives government too much opportunity to be tyrannical and exert unjust control. No government has used gun registries for "good". Most obvious example would be Hitler's 1938 Gun Control Act. The law first forced a national registry, then banned certain minority groups from ownership and when shyt hit the fan, they used that registry to find and confiscate weapons owned by 'enemies of the Nazi state'. Wether people like it or not, guns are protected under our Constitution. The comparison to drivers licenses in OP is a farce and conflates rights with privileges.

Stupid tinfoil hat shyt. The government could already confiscate 95% of the legal weapons in the country already without no registry. They generally know where the legal guns are, that's not the problem. The problem is being able to prove who made the illegal transfer in court.

But you full well know that mass gun confiscation is NEVER going to happen in this country. How would that pass constitutional muster? How would that work out practically without civil war in the streets? How many cops would even go along with it?

This is just being disingenuous. Look at the rhetoric from any anti-gun legislator. Look at the targeted attacks after the ATF banned bump stocks. Just because TODAY you dont think the government will overreach doesnt mean that they wont tomorrow. I mean just a few years ago half this site believed Trump was bringing back Nazi Germany and the Third Reich to America. Nothing is as far fetched as you make it out to be. On one hand you're saying the government can already take back all the guns and on the flip side you're saying there are Constitutional protections and cops that are going to defend those gun owners. :manny:
Most of OP is sensible and I don't oppose it but some of these items are gross overreach and furthers our governments power and control over its citizens.

Right-wing fear porn.

That's a total right-wing lie. The 1938 law had nothing to do with forcing a national registry. Germany already had a national gun registry dating back to long before Hitler came to power, but its impact on Nazi activities was minimal. They used it on occasion, but people who wanted to hide their gun acquisitions from the Nazis were able to do so effectively, and yet the Nazis overcame them easily anyway because they had overwhelming numbers and power regardless of where the guns were.

More right-wing fear porn. Explain how widespread gun confiscation would ever get past the Supreme Court. Explain who in law enforcement would ever enforce it. Explain why anyone would do it when it obviously would lead to immediate Civil War.

On one hand you're saying the government can already take back all the guns and on the flip side you're saying there are Constitutional protections and cops that are going to defend those gun owners. :manny:

I'm saying the cops COULD do it as a practical matter, in that they already know who 95% of the gun owners are. All the people who bought from a federally approved dealer are already registered. Everyone who signed up for a concealed carry permit is already registered. Everyone who bought a hunting license is already registered. We have far MORE complete gun registration than Nazi Germany did, ironically. Just combining dealer records, hunting records, and CCW records, you would be able to nail down most gun owners.

But in reality, you full well know it would never happen.
