Wow, don’t listen to these old ass fakkits OP :scust:

If you are a valuable to the business and are depended on and are giving more and more responsibilities then it is not out of the realm of reasonableness to ask for the pay that you are worth.

I got two raises in the last 4 months on a new job that I’ve only had for 6 months based on exactly some the things you said being a valuable asset to the company..

these old nikkas just work with their head down and do what massa says fukk alllat

Church. Tabernacle. Mosque. Temple. Synagogue.

A bunch of "You go' git us in trouble" Negroes.

These cats are too worried about losing their "benefits".

======

I got a raise after my first month on a job by opening my mouth and asking.

Boss told me verbatim, "I'll give it to you *looks around* but just don't tell anyone else."

Hell, it wouldn't have made a difference if I did tell other people. Most people are too scared to ask. Close mouths don't get fed.

Damn you opened my eyes breh they got him as the fall guy :ohhh:

My nikka..i got one at work. He's the fall guy for our 2nd shift. Buddy asked for a raise and compensation. They been stringin him along for 5 years. He's never gone get the money he would need to hold that weight. They chew his ass out if something is wrong and they not payin him for it. If the big wigs catch hell they just take off wit pay and like fukk it. I told him years ago i wouldnt be the person to do that cuz some folks cheap af when it comes 2 lookin out 4 others. Meanwhile they str8. Thats why i hope my guy gets what he wants cuz most aint like that. Like seriously, u got ppl coming in behind the guy im talkin bout makin more than him and he tellin them what to do...

Asking for a raise after 3 months is very bold. I don't think you'll get it. Yes, even if you're taking on more. That's the whole point.. Companies want employees to take on more work at the same pay. That's how they make money.

man i just seen this

first imma peep you to this as to why you are stupid for asking- you are doing some shyt anyone can do - i dig you team leader an all - big fukking whoop - it doesnt matter what you can POTENTIALLY do what your extra skills are - what you "like" to do or are enthusiastic to do - what he hired you for is some shyt that is the ONLY thing that is important. thats primary

at the end of the day he can get a team of mexicans ( not dissing you latino bros) but he can get a team of them to do what you doing and do it for way cheaper than he is paying you - so your ass is VERY replaceable which leads me to my second point

after 3 months - you dont rate - how long is the longest guy thats there that as talented, or more talented as you? - if he is there 3 or more years and HE hasnt gotten a raise - wtf or rather HOW the fuk are you to ask after 90 days - when is the review time? youd need to also know that - bc on the real if the best employee only gets a raise once every other year .. your raise will be a long time in coming

but lastly and MOST importantly - you are a contractor - an BEING on a contract that means the company that hired you, hired you because they have a specific amount of money they have budgeted to pay for your services. no more - hopefully way less. if they DID lowball you (and you accepted) they arent gonna try to fukk up that margin of savings by paying you MORE.

since more than likely THEY are also a Contractor ( and that would make you a contractor of a contract ) then your likelihood is fukking zero - and if i was your boss i would seriously have cut you off your speech ( which is what he did to you ) - told you to go on about your job and started making plans to replace your demanding ass with someone who realizes that im not gonna take money out of my pocket thats limited to put more in yours when you only been there 90 fukking days.

is your contract for work 5 years ? no? because if it was ( AND your are doing something REALLY REALLY RELLY specialized and CRITICAL ) then after a FISCAL quarter (which is 4 months) you MITE be able to demand or "ask" for more money because of perhaps you performed or accomplished a task or goal way beyond the expectation time which saved them a HEAP of money tahts what contractors DO - and typically its ony after they have to negotiate the next round of funding for the job they are doing .....and by saving money i mean a LOT of money not some 5% 10% shyt but some 20 -30% range projected cost.

- but you doin demo/ construction work - and unless youre taking apart a nuclear reactor - ..you are doing some common shyt which means if you did do something fast you not saving them THAT much...after all its fukking demo / construction work . - im not dissing contrction work - you gotta do what you gotta do - but the pool for construction workers aint shallow like the pool for say electrical engineers or heart surgeons or deep sea welders or heavy crane operators - construction workers pool ... that shyt is deep.

lastly

there are Law School Grads that are baristas- they have degrees and even a lawdegree - and yet for all their potential ..for all their talents and skills - they make coffee so they can pay their rent...and they only get a raise MAYBE once a year AFTER a really really REALLY good review.

you do a low manual labor job that a fukking highschool educated ex con can do ...with relish .... maybe you can do more - but they hired you to do what they hired you to do and you do that ; just because you do it well doesnt mean you are doing something special because you are of course doing what i fukking hired you to do.

if you really think you deserve more money? then get hired to DO some more shyt...he hired you do do what you do ( which even you admitt is below your capabilities ) step up ( ie volunteer or ask to be considerd for that more demanding new job ) or step off.

if this sounds harsh - too bad - that business and thats how the world works.

Ok and so what?

The Boss should be obligated to give him a raise cause his girl committed Suicide?!?

:why:

Come on dawg that's not how shyt works in the real world

He works at a Business....people don't compensate you for Sentimental reasons
You must've also skipped over the fact that he is doing more than what he was hired to do. Of he is taking on the responsibility of multiple roles in excess of the one he was hired to do then IDGAF if it was 2weeks. He deserves appropriate compensation. That's how people get taken advantage of and end up working at a place only to quit or be fired and have two people replace the single job you just filled. That's business too my guy. It comes down to knowing your value and having leverage to do so. Not some arbitrary amount of time.

I've worked a job and acquired the responsibilities of a district technical advisor with the pay of just a regular tech. Knowing that the raise wasn't going to come despite everything, I leveraged that into coming to work for only 3hrs a day and got my same salary. Because if I flat out quit, they were fukked because no one was trained to replace my role and the additional role I assumed meant the company had an in-house district technical advisor instead of having to put in a request for one that took weeks.

If all they had him doing was what he was hired for then asking for a raise so soon seems misplaced. But since he said they got him doing more shyt that makes him much more valuable than is original role, he needs to be compensated. That's how shyt works. And if it's any other way, you playing yourself. Most people are playing themselves with work.

OP, get that bag or shirk the additional responsibilities sans an addition to your compensation package.

So if shyt hits the fan while he's offsite...u catching the blame and u not getting your worth out of it...

Good luck breh
Exactly. If I'm responsible, pay me accordingly or I'm :hubie:. My coworkers wife won a suit against University of Chicago for something just like this. They bought a second building with the settlement.

SMH....you obviously didn't read what I'm responding to

Im wondering why he put out the story of his Girlfriend suicide as if that should have some bearing on him getting a raise

Once again WTF DOES THAT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING?!?

I've been at this jobsite under 3 months
Its construction/demo

I asked him for a raise, then immediately started explaining why I think I have earned it. He cut me off, told me he is aware of what I do. And he will be making a presentation to the owner within the week.

It's my first time doing this type of work. I've always been a CNC machinist. But hes taught me alot of shyt and he depends on me to get the team working hard. When he leaves the site, he tells me to watch them and make sure they're working. Hes given me other responsibilities as well as the owner has given me daily tasks to do personally

I'm fine with taking on a bigger role, having people depend on me, and being able to motivate the team. But I need that raise.

Wish me luck boys
--------
I did not apply for this job. I was asked to come work by the owners son. He knows my background of metal working

EDIT:
This switch of careers has brought me peace. Was battling demons and losing my mind for years. ignoring families pleas for me to get help with my mental health.

The love of my life hung herself, and it destroys me everyday. But since getting out of factory shyt, I am the happiest I have been in years.

man, I’m REALLY happy to read this. It’s great that despite hardships and the pain of losing your girl. You’re able to find peace & happiness.

Peace & light to you, breh.
