How do we use abilities?

I keep adding all these skills in the mastery trees but it's not clear exactly how you "use" some of the moves (use = what buttons do I press on PS5).

You can only assign 2 weapon abilities per weapon from the mastery screen. The ones that can be swapped in and out will show an "Assign" button in the corner

You still in the prologue? I feel like the 1st hour or 2 felt like nothing but cutscenes but since then it hasn't been too bad

This might be my favorite AC next to Origins
