Because I have seen it time and time again. People who pursue materialism as an end goal are NEVER happy. There has to be more to life.
He didn't say what "more" means to him though so I could be off base.
We grow everyday. People saying they don't know what they want to do with their life seem to believe you can only do one thing with your life and die.
Regardless of your age you should have something on the horizon. What that something is, is entirely up to you and depends on your personal definition of happiness and success.
Your first lesson should be to stop comparing your life with the lives of others. They define success and happiness the way that suits them, not the way it should suit you.
My advice. Read The Alchemist. It's a short book and should invigorate your desire to pursue your dreams.

You seem to want to impose your beliefs regarding what is important to you onto everyone else. Beyond that, you also appear to have a very narrow view, based on how you asserted that if people aren't focusing on "what matters," then they must be trying to use wealth/materialism as the primary basis of happiness.
More money to me? What does it mean:Potentially not going bankrupt if my health goes to shyt.
Trips to where I want, practically when I want.
Being able to take care of a larger family.
Making larger investments in what I want to invest in.
Not living check to check, as I don't spend much.
You keep thinking we just want this shyt to floss, and that is *your* issue. I wan't comfort and options, and both of those go way up when money is not an issue.

Its all mental. u must master your brain. set small goals that lead to bigger ones. If u fail get up n succeed or fail again and keep trying change up n keep trying. humans should be in constant mental emotional and physical motion in order to be truly in tune with yourself. thats how you master your temple and be the best version of yourself

I knew 6 months into college that the degree...that paper...isn't what I needed to be successful at life for what my passion is.
I should have bailed and joined the military right there and then...but I stuck with it and I don't use a single thing I learned in college in my daily walk.
Everything I learned that I use daily I learned on the streets and in my personal life. College was just a waste of time and money and someplace to pick up p*ssy.
In the big picture in real life...no one gives a fukk you have a degree. I haven't met one person yet that cared that I went to college or got a degree.
My employer didn't even care that much about it...just that I could get the work done and figure out how to make it happen if I didn't already know how.

people like to front but I KNOW a lot of people who are trapped in their current job and are 6 feet deep with no way up. OP chase your dreams breh or be unhappy with having to do mediocre jobs.
