I just spent $200 on what I thought should have been a week’s worth of groceries and the shopping cart might as well have been an accessory like how these chicks walk around with them big ass handbags just for their ID and car keys.

How are people surviving out here with these prices :wtf: I swear it wasn’t this bad about a month ago.. everything is half the size and twice the price.. it’s just straight up robbery.

I still feel violated.. I might have file a police report and press charges against Walmart at this point.
We won't bust a grape collectively. The common man is so fukking pacified. We neck deep in bills and inflation. Still threatening to do shyt. Can't afford homes... Still threatening to do shyt.

Society should have been hit a breaking point... I don't think modern humans have any fight in them with all due respect. We have 0 collective effort to curtail the bullshyt. Everyone thinks it's all on politicians. When people protest we cry about the inconvenience so who's supposed to be doing shyt?

We're in a dumb ass space and being exploited for it. Politicians nor businesses have no pressing urgency to address the daily man's hurdles. They are content pushing until it falls apart. That's the blind push of unchecked capitalism.

winco ftw!

just buy chicken thighs/legs beans/rice/pasta/tortillas/tomatoes/bone broth

if you have spices and know how to cook your good

majority buy cheetos mountain few and frozen shyt

I’ll add frozen fish to this list. I made one pound of taco meat on Monday and a very delicious seafood stew/w rice on Wednesday.
I got eight affordable and delicious meals for the low.

If your single, your going to have to learn how to cook in this environment.I will say going into the store is always a bad idea. Because your going to see stuff and buy on a whim. Better to use instacart, that way you only order what you need. And have time to make corrections if the price is crazy. Yeah I pay more in fees and a tip. But I spend about 50-75$ more when I go into a store and thats just junk for myself. Gotta start learning the value of rice and a casserole.

This is a cheat code. I order from Amazon fresh or even Whole Foods. I end up spending way less than if I physically go to Kroger or Publix. When you go to the store, you will never buy just what is on your list especially if you’re hungry. Not going to grocery store when hungry is another life hack.

I spend about 200 a week on groceries and I haven’t really noticed an increase. But at the same time I don’t really check the price. Just my overall spending.

I mainly buy fruits veggies eggs yogurt meat water and some ancillary things.

I have a CC that gives me 6% CB on groceries so it helps subsidize the cost a little bit.

2 containers of burrata - $12 apiece
2 containers of ricotta - $8 apiece
parmesan reggiano - $8
mozzarella - $7
1 lb ground turkey - $8
1lb turkery Italian sausage - $11
fresh lasagna sheets - $18
thats $92 right there

plus had to buy crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, mushroom, spinach, onion, garlic, parsley, basil, some items to make salad

I easily hit $120-130 for the lasagna and salad

bought a pie for dessert, whipping cream, yogurt, sparkling water and eggs and that’s where I got to $200

like I said, I wasn’t using cheap shyt, clearly I could’ve made the average American lasagna with hard packaged noodles, jarred sauce, low quality turkey, and cheap cheese and come out around $50-60

I never made lasagna before, want to do it someday

I shop between Walmart, Kroger and Wayfield. Only go to Publix for certain items/deals

I meal prep for the whole week, so I usually eat the same item for 2/3 days.

I probably spend around 100 weekly for groceries. You just got to know how to shop and be disciplined.

As I figured, absolute bullshyt. Just priced this recipe out from smiths (Kroger) and it’s 43 dollars, and that’s with you ending up with extra half pound of each of the beef and sausage. A whole 3.50 per serving, with extra proteins

Always with the hyperbole. If you actually cook, meal plan, and shop accordingly you can get by just fine. If somehow you spent 200 bucks on lasagna shyt and water, that’s a you problem

Subbed for the recipe

Shop the perimeter of the store and never buy shyt from the inner aisles
Vegetables, fruits, meat, and maybe some dairy. It's still going be more expensive than 2019 prices but probably cheaper than what you're doing now
I avg like $80-100 a week shopping at places like sprouts, weis, trader joes, etc
