I regularly shop produce. Yes you can. Just buy them whole and not prepackaged.
^^
This is ESPECIALLY true with fruits.

A freaking pineapple is like 3 dollars. Buy it sliced/diced and you’re paying like $8 for less than a 1/3 of the pineapple. Same for papaya and watermelon. It’s insane.

I spent $75 dollars to make a pot of Red Beans:

Tony Chachere's
Camellia Red Beans 4x
Smoked Turkey Necks 3x
Jasmine Rice 5lbs.
Garlic
Celery 1lb bag
Bell Pepper 3x
Yellow Onion 3x

Back in 2015 that would been $50 bucks
$25 increase over almost 10 years...

This, I can believe

Well hold on- we can’t be buying Walmart brand food lol
And there is the problem with the people complaining... I mean I get their point.. But they don't want to make their point...

The actual point would be, "I CAN'T AFFORD THE GROCERIES THAT I WANT TO BUY!!!"

The point they are actually trying to make is, "I CAN'T AFFORD GROCERIES!!!"

Those are two wildly different statements. Yes you can afford rice... no you cannot afford uncle ben's

Went to the grocery store earlier.

Chicken breast were 1.99 a lb.
Cheese was buy 2 get 3 free
Frozen veggies were 4 for 5.
Eggs were 2.19.
Big brown rice box is always on sale.

I dunno, maybe y'all just don't cook.
The hell type of cheese is buy 2 get 3 free?

I can honestly say we don’t have those deals out here. You’ll see some 2 for $6/7/8 for the generic cheese, 2 for $5 for frozen veggies and you not walking out with eggs for less than $4

Harris Teeter does it for a variety of products.

Today a dozen brown eggs are 3 dollars even.
Food lion or Harris Teeter always has 5 for 5 as one of the stores for frozen veggies.

Sorry, shyt cheaper in the south. Most of these products are local too :umad:
