While funny this kinda underscores how the COL crisis is more than just grocery costs, it’s an ideological shift. Bc make no mistake there are some people who really use this mentality as an excuse for their lazilness in not cooking

The younger generation has been sucked into eat out culture x technology makes it easier to spend money. (Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, Apple Pay) x the current times make people stress eat x Liberal ‘anything goes’ culture will justifying spending money frivolously as a ‘treat’ x Brunch culture. Etc etc etc

It all collides and makes it funny to me when people live that type of lifestyle but complain about COL.

Those prices wishful thinking...:mjlol: you not adding tax

there's no tax on groceries in most states. here in illinois it's 2.25%, but indiana is very close and their sales tax on groceries are 0%.

the prices I listed are from when I bought all these ingredients from aldi last week :manny:

Imagine arguing that food prices aren't a problem.

You shouldn't have to shop at a particular store to get affordable food. Especially when that store isn't even in the majority of locations.
Welcome to growing up broke. My mom was shopping multiple stores in the 80s and I'm sure it was cheap then too.. Maybe that's why it doesn't bother me now and I can do it with ease, even though I'm in the 6 figure range

Some struggles you never forget

This... I spent $300 in groceries at the beginning of the month. We still have meats in the freezer to cook and other stuff, and it's shopping day next again......

We wanted cheesesteaks yesterday... 2 large cheesesteaks, onion rings, cheese fries, two drinks.... FIFTY fukking dollars

For $50, I could buy two real cuts of steak, potatoes, onions and a 12 pack of beer and still not spend $50

what kind of struggle quality meat and cheese are yall buying.... 2$ cheese? is it even real dairy? or "cheese product" :beli:
beef is $6 a pound.... organic grass fed
No... What kind of overpriced, make believe beef are you getting at $6 a pound? They got organic meat at walmart... shyt still ain't $6 for filet mignon.. You can go to the deli in publics and get real cheese for $4 a pound, so yea, enough for a week or two of sandwiches is like $2

How do people complain about prices and never complain about being overcharged?

Wtf does that have to do with my point. :dead:

Just because YOU are cool with shopping around and still paying inflated prices that are just lower than the other inflated prices elsewhere, doesn't make the system less exploitative.
