Things have gotten better, but we have a ways to go. I believe it's going to take a fully organized effort. We would need jobs, mentors, unity between Black men and women (we don't currently have) to raise kids, and real, Black law enforcement that actually wants to solve crime. The current White law enforcement that we have is encouraging violence in our communities, in my opinion. All these cameras now, and no one knows who did what? Stop it. We also need an intelligence gathering committee to find out who's really behind the crime, because I believe a lot of the directives are coming from outside of the community.

We are the only community where the expectations of the family is on the black woman. Where the expectations of the community is on the black woman. That's why it's over for us. Whenever you have a buncha men sitting around making excuses for why they can't get a buncha young people under control, why it's not their responsibility to contribute to their own community, why they can't do this, why they can't do that, why they can't do anything but go get a job working for white people, and then look to blame everything on the woman, you might as well pack it up, and permanently bend the knee to the white man and ask him to come in and fix us in whatever way he sees fit. Even if that means sending the men back to the plantation while he enjoys the women.
