RZA shined the most on topical verses (he's obviously well-read), but the flipside of that is that his solo albums in general lack introspection. A lotta slang, colorful language and 5% rhetoric but not much self-reflection nor the ability to make the characters in his songs (i.e. Bobby Digital and etc.) feel real. The album "RZA as Bobby Digital" is a long ass Kung Fu movie with a lotta action set-pieces but the star has no flaws and no backstory. A lot of his work suffers from that.

DOOM even when in character (or multiple characters) is much better at capturing the "reality" of what he raps about even when its dressed up in obscure references and slang.
