I ask this cause if you are a black American or any conscious black person I highly doubt you would have made this thread. Everything about our lives as black people is a conspiracy in this country. Police brutality against black people was considered a conspiracy until the last few years. It took cell phones showing how we're treated for even a few white people to believe what we've been saying for decades. Most crakkkas still don't believe or care. Then you got things like the idea black people are inherently violent being a commonly accepted notion in this country when as black people we know that isn't true. Then you got things like black history which have been totally erased from the historical record by crakkkas.

I could keep going on. But the point is this. As a black person, I know that everything the mainstream media and educational system says about us is a lie. If they are willing to lie about that, what else are the lying about? That is why as black people we inherently distrust anything the white run media or educational system says. You can call that being a conspiracy theorist if you want. I call it being open minded towards the truth.

It isn't connected or inherent to race, it is simply ignorance, lack of education, and the secular nature of people's lives, they obsess over social media, and who did what with who, but they do not understand how government institutions work, or homicide investigations for that matter. They very much live in a world where their opinions are validated by peers no matter how inane or senseless, it is really scary.

I read this op ed a while back which explained how people are so easy to sway, because they likely trust some regular person they know on facebook over, lets say the LAPD homicide teams PR spokesperson, however idiotic that is. They have no faith in experts or facts, it is all based on feelings, look at those comments "it just feels like a conspiracy", what value does that statement even have? None, but people will run with it, and then accuse you of "not having an open mind" when you contradict their laughable theories.

Psychologically, conspiracies help people make sense of what they truly don't understand, and they are comforting, in terms of

1) Giving up control to the "higher powers", so an imagined helplessness

2) Taking back control because of their knowledge

This is a very naive take on things.

Power does exist and it has an influence on our lives.

Acting like power does not exist and we are the sole masters of our destiny is very naive, but comforting for some people ego.

Feels like some of yall are grouping in any type of ulterior motive in with "Crazy kooky conspiracies". We've been through some crazy shyt as a people. After being in the military and working for the government in my lifetime, and seeing how incompetent and slow beauracracy can be in general. I've come to the conclusion the whole "higher ups control every aspect of my life" mentally is a coping mechanism to deal with their general helplessness, powerlessness, or deep-seeded familiarity with being a perpetual victim. It's a coping tool to justify staying in a comfort zone instead of improving the quality of their lives. I do get and know how dirty the gummit can play, but in reality there isn't enough manpower to do half the shyt I see in conspiracies. Government be on a wish and a prayer plans work sometimes. Many failed projects on their end too.
