I encourage us all to have some MERCY and just fall back on the people holding onto conspiracy theories. Let me explain.
Let's not pretend that the government has never been involved in screwing up our community. Let's not act like COINTELPRO was not a thing. That the Tuskegee Experiment was not a thing. That Fred Hampton's murder was not a thing. Martin Luther King Jr. & Malcolm X & Jim Crow & drugs being pumped into black neighborhoods.
All of these things happened, and I'm pretty sure someone said, "the govt is behind this!" only to be laughed at and scolded. And then lectured to about how it starts and ends with us....
So it's not like people don't have a very real PTSD-ish memory...
Personally, I WISH it was a big pharma/govt hit. My critical thinking won't allow me to come to that conclusion. But I don't judge, nor do I criticize those who want to hang onto that conclusion.
We deal with trauma differently. Some of us are simply in denial.
The Dr. Sebi conspiracy theory that people are holding onto is - in my opinion - denial... or wishful thinking conspiracy conclusions. They know deep down it ain't that... but they really wish it were...
I
t's MUCH easier to process and deal with a common enemy (the government) and it's much easier to rally; to come together, march, meet, converse and push forward. Because the "MAN" took down a good brotha!
But this? I don't know what to do with this. And the truth is, no one does.
How do you deal with the reality that there are black men and women so weak minded... they felt so disenfranchised that a rebuke is responded to with murder?
You can find the guy, kill the guy, bring him to justice, whatever... it doesn't matter.
He's not a lone wolf. There are thousands of other men and women in our communities all throughout the country.
They have the same mentality as that killer. They're on edge, they're angry as hell, they're sensitive as hell, they've gone through extreme trauma, they don't give a damn about anyone else, they're lost and they're just walking around... wishing a MF would...
And they are gonna be the ones to murder hundreds more men and women this summer. In Chicago, Philly, New Orleans, Atlanta, L.A., Detroit, Dallas, Houston, New York, Boston and Miami.
That's why this whole thing bothers me.
When the reason why HITS YOU, and you know deep down that you don't have a solution. Truth be told. You don't either.
