How can anyone still defend these guys ?
I know the left isn’t perfect but most of the problems we have about the left comes from them being overly politically correct, not necessarily them being evil.

But the conservatives? Man. From being the party of racism, slavery, to shyt were seeing now..trying to rewrite history in Texas schools, still protesting statues of racist confederate leaders etc.. I can’t morally fucc wit ppl who think SUPPORTING that party is ok. It’s one thing to agree with some stuff they say but to try to grow their movement as a whole? Nah

Absolutely not. I ended an almost 30 year friendship with a white friend of mine from grade school cause he was Republican and racist to boot (the latter was moreso the problem)

Our friendship was already shaky but the Trump years just did it.

He called me recently after not talking for 6 years and I told him to go fukk himself. He was so hurt he just blocked me.

Being friends with people whose politics want me as a Black person is dead shows I dont need to be fukkin with them.

I dont know, that's tricky. You vote for liberals and you're voting for people who think it's cool for men to wear makeup and use the same bathroom as your daughter. If you disagree with them they might get you fired for being a phobe. Politics makes strange bedfellows though. I've read pieces from Catholics who think Trump is one of the worst things to happen to this country but they're thankful that he put three conservative judges on the supreme court. They dont want to vote for him, but being pro life means enough to turn a blind eye to his flaws, numerous as they are. You vote left, you do the same thing.

Thread title is about people who vote, so yes it has to do with voting. Specifically people who vote conservative. Nothing wrong with cutting off conservatives, or anybody for that matter. My point is not everyone voting for conservatives agrees with everything from the right. Same as those who vote DNC, dont agree with everything from the Left.

Politics are not just politics. Imagine you've got hella women in your family and you know for a fact one had a life-saving abortion.
Your friend over here dancing and talking about God and how women should not be promiscuous, whole time that person in your family was
in a loving relationship but the potential baby was life-threatening for one reason or another.

There is a fundamental disconnect in our philosophy if that is the case. Same with poverty. You might work at a shelter and know 50 different people with 20+ different problems but your mans over here like "They should just get jobs." Bring up mental health for some, he says they should get help.

Most people with mental issues aren't lucid enough to just pop up and get help. It takes hitting a bottom...which can be homelessness. Basically, there is a certain amount of "fukk em" inherent in conservatism that makes it hard to reconcile being around someone. Arguing taxes or military presence is one thing. Embracing racist policies and electing religious know-nothings shows something about character that cannot be ignored.
