N95 could be a single from what I’m hearing so far. Kendrick can rap and to insinuate he needs “help” writing is asinine. That said. I def don’t believe he’s a better writer than Cole. I can’t even say more creative because Cole doesn’t get the creative passes that Kendrick gets.
yall gonna give Wale his props one of these days

He still has bars, but he's more focused on crafting artistic songs instead of barring up verses with quotables now.

Personally, as a fan of hip hop, I don't like seeing Kendrick shifting more towards becoming a pure artist and away from a traditional rapper, but its obviously better for him and his legacy.

I think this hurts his legacy with the younger crowd. The younger generation is what always moved hip hop forward, they not gonna be sitting there breaking down his “artwork” They want to hear him bodying beats and nikkas on their own shyt like he did with Control. This is the microwave generation, when somebody else comes along and drops something hot, they move on to that, and then the next hot joint.

The “culture” in 2022 is cacs and TikTok, are you saying this album is for those groups of people?

the culture hasn't changed much from 5 plus years ago when he put tpab out. you can scroll up for my previous answer :ye:

plus that pretty much describes "youth" rap fans. so which side is it. if you think it's gonna hurt his legacy to not cater to white kids and tic tok... who cares lol. i'm certain no rapper even wants that legacy

They want their music to go viral and cacs jumping up and down at their concerts. I say the direction he went with this album hurts his legacy because he went from rapper/mc to “artist”, just like it did for Jay Z when he went in the art direction around or after BP3. It is what it is.
