He fell off to me after vol 2 even tho i fcked with some tracks on vol 3 n the dynasty....

Blueprint was too commercial for me n Nas really fcuked that nikka over around that time

Black album had great production n themes but jay wasnt on point lyrically

His other albums are just :trash:

European Hov is what keeps him going platinum. Look at what happens to Nas when he keeps it Hip Hop, the Hip Hop audience downloads the album for free and Nas doesnt sell platinum. Ghostface has been keeping it Hip Hop since Ironman with quality after quality and still cant go platinum. Keeping it Hip Hop pushes one into irrelevance while aiming for mainstream success keeps you as an A lister. I'm assuming Hov figured that out when he switched his style from Reasonable doubt to the Puffy sound when he did with Vol 1.

Hov had to switch his style though.

its not like he could go into acting or some other entertainment avenue.

all he can do is rap and make business deals.

i don't blame him.

i just don't support him by giving him my money.

I don't really get anyone who says he fell off though.

Dude just doesn't have much to prove at this point. He's still as witty and as competent as ever. Its not like he hasn't done stuff before.

He did fall off. To me he's like scarface in the second half of the movie, fat, uninspired, with a mountain of coke on the table. His success is no longer based on the quality of music, just what he sells. Well vanilla ice and hammer sold a bunch of records too.

To me he fell off after black album. I just thought that was the great way to end the career. Songs that were introspective, still had hunger and was lyrically sharp. Jay don't care no more. Whatever he puts out will sell but he lacks any inspiration.
