The world as we know it is functional for us but it's far from perfect and it contains a lot of stuff we don't need. The universe is also far larger than what is necessary if it was only created for our purpose.

Your soul or spirt alone doesn't get you into heaven according to the major religions that subscribe to having a heaven or hell. What suppose to get you in heaven is you good acts carried out through humanity in the creator (or force) name . So you're question is faulty to being with but I'll edify you real quick. Mood just means a conscious state of mind. If a person is a buddhist,christian,jew etc they make that decision consciously and act accordingly.
