Mass creates "dimples" in spacetime (its like putting a heavy object on a trampoline) which causes the effects of gravity. The higgs boson is the particle that gives other particles mass, and they've detected it (essentially). Even Humans have a gravitational pull.. we're just dominated by the earth's gravity.
Every object has pull... mass is just how much matter something has and resistance to gravity. I agree, it causes the effects... not creates it. Anyway, these type of theories usually aren't proven incorrect and aren't loose based on assumptions (like the main theories atheist champion). This isn't even a topic that atheist or agnostic atheist (lol) and religious people need to debate about.
We don't know what was here before the creation of the universe.. and we have only discovered a fractions of the details after. .. . y debate what happened before a creation we don't even understand?

maybe we will find out some day, maybe we wont. I kind of feel like trying to explain EVERYTHING becomes impossible and turns into an infinite "..but where did that come from..?" question over and over. Lets put all the puzzle pieces together before we try to look at the big picture.
