Week 7 matchup between the reigning Super Bowl Champions New England Patriots and the Super Bowl runner ups Atlanta Falcons. This is the first time both teams will have faced each other since the Super Bowl where the Failcons blew a 28-3 lead in the 3rd quarter. Both teams will face off in Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA on Sunday Night Football.
Pats are 4-2 and atop the AFC East. Since their Super Bowl matchup, the Pats added Brandin Cooks, Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead, Dwayne Allen, and Stephon Gilmore. However, they lost Julian Edelman for the season due to injury. Also, the Pats defense is ATROCIOUS and probably the worst all-around defense in the league.
The Falcons are 3-2 and are 3rd in the NFC South. They haven't looked as dominating this season as they did last year. Julio Jones has yet to catch a TD pass this season.
A big advantage for the Pats is that Rob Gronkowski is healthy and will be available to play this time around. However, the Falcons will aim to pressure Brady up front with their defensive line. If they're able to pressure Brady into making errant/rushed passes, perhaps the Falcons defense can hold on long enough for a victory.
