As an outsider Atlanta makes no sense

Finding out most of the famous nikkas aren’t from the city limits :heh:

Atlanta not even having half a million people in the city. Atlanta doesn’t need any of its neighborhoods seceding they should be adding places to the city limits.

That moment when I found out that PG County is bigger than ATL both land-wise and population-wise had me like :dwillhuh:

They want their own police force...straight up

It is something to be said that the the richest and most affluent part of ATL is crime ridden as well.....

Something got to give if you can't even move there and avoid crime

An 8 year old was shot in the head near Lennox for God sake.

moving back next month. I’ll be walking distance from my old HS and where I grew up. I’ll rent for a year and then try to find a condo in the neighborhood. Rich young cacs have driven the price of a home to 700k. When my fam moved to Clayco I’m the 90s, they were giving away these houses.

It’s very important that I buy something in my childhood neighborhood. My bro and sis are on the same wave. They recently bought their homes on the Westside which fortunately is not as gentrified as the Eastside.
Westside more dangerous? A lot of East Atlanta rappers make the eastside sound like a slum full of shiesty killers (ex. Ninth Ward, Sahhbabbi video)

its sad. They’re always posted up at my 75/85 exit. Ill give them a 20 every now and then. Me and one of the neighbors were trying to see if we could set up some sort of after school program for them but they said they can make $60 a day each.

As a middle or high schooler, that ain’t bad for a few hours harassing people in cars. Id probably tell the after school programs to kick rocks too

They need to set up an after-school program like Chicago that pays students to attend. Here it’s called After School Matters and students are payed to enroll in programs that range from STEM to the Arts and the programs themselves are year round to keep the kids off the streets. Plus they feed the kids as well.

If buckhead is super white. Why do black folks care about what they plan to do their area? As for cops. No matter where you go cops will profile you.

Stunting culture. Buckhead has all the nightlife and upscale shopping and restaurants. If Buckhead gets autonomy, they will put in measures to try to keep the riff raff out. A lot of folks prolly gonna start getting profiled and won’t have free reign in Buckhead like they used to.

Something needs to happen though. It’s not normal that an upscale neighborhood like that sees the crime that it does. That’s like the UES and Fifth Avenue dealing with shootings, car jackings, robberies, all the time.

Depends on where you are. Boulevard/memorial, Grant Park, Omerwood Park are nice as hell. Cascade Heights/ Bolton near South Cobb are in the midst of a revitalization. Property value is shooting up too.

but overall SE has been undergoing gentrification longer than any parts of the Westside. I remember white gays moving into our neighborhood in the 90s. That’s the first sign of gentrification. A gay flag flying in the yard.

PG is more of a Black Mecca than ATL will ever be but the Coli and rap will tell you otherwise :scust:

No it’s not. Been living in this area for 12+ years now.

Rich Atlanta nikkas are all over the city. From the most inclusive high rises to the most exclusive gated communities. From the best restaurants, to the most exclusive Night spots.

I don’t even see that many blacks in these kinds of spots/places in DC. DC is segregated as hell. I don’t see any black homeowners like that in the most desirable neighborhoods in the the area like Georgetown, DuPont Kolorama, SE Water Waterfront, Crystal city etc.

It’s like there is self segregation going on with black folks in DC that doesn’t happen in Atlanta.

So there's no Black Elite in Atlanta to replace the rich white people? How does it even call itself the Mecca then? :patrice:
Where the (affluent) black people live is not Atlanta proper. It’s the suburbs. By and large, most black people still can’t afford to live in the downtown, midtown, buckhead areas, outside of a few here and there. And those tend to be professional singles, not black families.

Not saying they aren’t there at all, but the black popular in those areas aren’t what make it the “Mecca.”

That term Mecca is stupid anyway.

Short sighted thinking.

An Atlanta deprived of buckhead tax revenue will only have fewer police and mental health professionals to stop crime from entering the newly independent buckhead.

They acting like cityhood is some magical wall against the rest of the ATL metro:francis:

literally only purpose is the vote and the way ATL and GA just leaned in 2020. They don't give a shyt about anything else.

Bruh there’s way more wealthier Black folks in PG and DMV than ATL. Don’t confuse entertainment money with private business money. Same goes for Black folks in LA, Chi and NY/NJ, they don’t flash their monies for all to see.
