The hoods surrounding those casinos look like Camden.
That's why people get the fukk out once they're done gambling :pachaha:

Yeah, man. I used to go there every year for conferences and the ONLY reason to go into the surrounding areas was to get cheaper cigarettes and alcohol.

Otherwise, I just stayed in my hotel room because it didn't feel like I was out of town.

AC is expensive as all hell. But unlike other casinos in the northeast they serve booze basically 24/7.

Atlantic city is a shythole. For years politicians bled the money from the casinos and did nothing to reinvest in the community. They had decades to turn Atlantic city into the east coast Vegas, yet they did nothing. Just year after year taking all that revenue for pork barrel spending. Only when shyt hit the fan did they require some of the money be reinvested. Now it's too late and the loss of revenue will cripple the fukking state. This to me is more an indictment on politicians and what happens when you have unqualified people making technical decisions. I hope every casino there closes down, because men like me enjoy seeing the world burn :pacspit:

Was anything done after Sandy to revitalize the city? Did they ever get their funding from the Federal Government?

we need a story?
I wrote about it awhile back.
She was going through a not-so-great marriage. He wasn't beating her or sleeping around. But, she was unemployed and started going to AC to gamble. She liked blackjack. Anyway, she was starting to lose on a continual basis. Gambling was her way out of reality. She liked the excitement of winning. Typical gambling addict. She was emptying her bank account, daughter's college fund, her own retirement fund and took her parent's money (thousands of dollars) which they wanted her to invest in stocks (they assumed she knew what she was doing since she worked for the Wall Street Journal, but not as a stock analyst, not even stock/finance related). She maxed out credit cards. She owed Borgata because of a marker, casino line of credit. Her husband knew about the marker and so he gave her money to pay some of that off. One day, she goes to the Borgata, gambled that instead of paying it off. And she lost it all. At that point, she hit rock bottom, wanted to commit suicide, but got carted off from her hotel room by EMTs and got committed to a NJ mental hospital. Really bad situation. Tada, banned from the Borgata.
