Christianity is all about being submissive, and it's drilled in you from day one. The pastor, associate pastors, and deacons all had that same submissive stance.

It comes from the teaching that we're all God's "children" so we should be children in "his" eyes.

Christianity is indeed a great tool for white supremacy.

It sounds like you went to church against your will and didnt have a choice in what kind of church you went to. I was meh about church when I was young too.

But as an adult I've settled into a church that fits in my view of the world. It's progressive, politically and socially (all about Black Lives Matter and is pro LGBTQ both in teachings and administration) and speaks the truth about this country's history and present.

Look up Trinity UCC in Chicago, its a mega church but aren't on that prosperity gospel tip. Watch a sermon online even, particularly a recent one where the pastor was preaching in Kaepernick jersey.
