You know any judges? They got the biggest egos of anyone on the planet and will take any chance to express how much power they have.
If you a lawyer you should be trying to not piss off the most powerful person in the room.
The Judge might be a former cop or prosecutor; or related to cops or prosecutors. They are trying to make BLM some kind of outlaw organization. They do the same thing to all Black organizations until they can infiltrate and control them.
The local NAACP and some of the council members will likely be on her side.
If this can make national news, she could definitely garner mass-support.
