I'll admit i dont know what the deal was with her and Will Smith. But Janet HUbert may have a point depending what Jada is asking black actors to do here.
Like in the NFL when they had the lockout, the superstars who have their huge signing bonuses dont have a problem holding out and know they wont get black-balled. It's the little guys making $200K and are struggling to stay in the league that will suffer the most as negotiations drag on. So Jada and Will cant expect everyone to just blindly follow their lead.
Personally, I have a bit of problem with them not getting a Nigerian or someone of nigerian descent to play the role. Or they should have let him speak like himself and just not try the accent, period. There are many good nigerian actors in Holliwood and im sure one of them could have pulled it off. Sure the directors wanted someone of impact but i think having him struggle with the accent was a mistake.
But this is the U.S.A. and almost everything goes by color. I guess they said "fukk it black is black" and K.I.M.![]()
hollywood is all about money... it was a big budget movie, so they went with the biggest name they could find ,to make sure they can make their money back... Idris would of been a better choice, but since they sent it out, will and his ppl agreed , then why not..
