I see both sides of the argument. I honestly could care less who Janet Hubert is married to. That's not my business. What I took from her rant is that the Smiths aren't consistent. I can't speak on what they've done or haven't done because I honestly don't know. Everything people do isn't made public. The thing is that if you're boycotting the Oscars THIS YEAR, it should've been and should be boycotted until change occurs. This isn't the first time the Oscars have shut out Black actors and they have history of doing dirt to Black actors and actresses.

Boycotting isn't the problem, it's who's telling people to boycott. Spike is getting an award and he decided to not attend, that is a real statement since he chose pride over recognition. The fact that Idris wasn't nominated shows just how phony those awards really are.

The problem is they are boycotting the wrong thing and Aunt Viv has shown that the real issues always seem to be by the waist-side. If Jada and Will or whoever want to do some real shyt, then put that energy in helping out the black community. Create jobs, open up businesses, schools, libraries, etc.

That won't happen though.
