Not the same situation but Knicks went through something similar with Hartenstein. They loved him but they could only offer him a certain percentage higher than his last contract. They couldn't even offer him the contract OKC gave him so it was a no brainer for him to leave.

Reaves being the nucleus of a team, in any capacity, isn't winning shyt. He's a nice complementary piece and that's where it stops. You're clearly only inflating his ability and worth to the team because he's a palate cleanser to Bron. Under any other circumstances you'd balk at the thought of him being a main piece for the Lakers.

Dredging up a player that I made a thread about five years ago, whom I thought had the potential to become part of OKC's core as if it's some gotcha moment is only telling on yourselves. Y'all hang onto my every word. Bazley had the tools and physical makeup, but none of the desire and mentality to continue to improve. That's just how it goes sometimes. I have no control over him not wanting to work on his game.
