The NBA is in trouble when Bron retires since it's such a narrative and star driven league. Can see ratings torpedeoing after he's gone like it did when Mike retired.

1. The best players are all foreign and the general public are not going to care about them like that.

2. There's a severe lack of American stars. Zion ate himself out of stardom, no one cares about Tatum and Ja isn't a face of the League type of player.

3. The NBA's only hope is Cooper Flagg.

Jersey sales, endorsements, social media engagement, NBA promotion, etc. all disagrees with you, but okay :unimpressed:

Giannis JUST made 29 years old. Or does this apply to American players? I only mention Giannis because Jokic and Doncic were mentioned in this clip. Embiid is another who’s 29, or is it because he’s an African big man and not a wing?

It’s a cultural thing :yeshrug:Black men in general have been neutered.:hubie:

There are no more Bron/mike/jay Z types who can operate in any arena. Who have the right balance of charm pause and intelligence and street smarts and aggression and tact. We either got the personality-less robots or the other extreme dudes cosplaying as brain dead rappers like Lamelo and Ja Morant.

New age cats mostly have no personality and are conditioned to just stay quiet and make your money

Anthony Edwards is the only cat I see with the old school vibe on and off court
What personality does Steph show? He’s flashy on the court, but that’s it

Giannis is the guy who has everything he’s talking about and yet he completely ignored him.
He sounded like his pops at a press conference after a loss. Dude saying a lot of words with great confidence but not making any sense :pachaha:

They need to just shift to marketing teams and get away from the “Next Jordan” marketing model.
That really only happened the first 5 years after Jordan with Kobe/LeBron.. we have moved past that as a model and just went to "GOAT" and "Best at their position all time" model

It's why after Giannis/Jokic won a ring there were legit convos on the sports talk shows about their place on the all time Center list and what they gotta do to the be best

Nah, the ongoing Jordan vs Bron debate to me is a part of the wider Next Jordan marketing. Rather than letting these new players define the era by their own terms they always have to chase the ghost of Jordan.
