They are alternate reality Fox-Men.

Same actors just now more comic accurate, like what we saw with the Wolverine in Deadpool and Wolverine.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for them to be the originals because the original fox-men continuity was not consistent and contradicted itself.

The multiverse aspect allows them to create a new MCU Fox-Men universe. That’s why you have Cyclops in a comic accurate costume and giant comic accurate sentinels.

I say this cause watching DOFP, they reconned everything from any FOX movie before, made the younger into the older directly, and never showed the older X-Men suit up... So technically these could be the same ones and not break continuity by saying DOFP makes X-men 1,2 and 3 erased


And with Marvel, I think they'll just go with that

Mystique couldn’t be here if it picked up from any of Fox flicks because she dies or all Mutants end up getting killed. Logan takes places after DOFP. Tatum Gambit was never in a fox movie.

If they wanted to follow up from the fox movies they would have not changed the costumes like what we saw in No Way Home with Maguire and Garfield.

THIS MAKES THE MOST SENSE....

I read somewhere u should just look at the fox x-men universe now as a branched timeline from the ending of days of future past. That makes the most sense to me.

Mystique dying is the answer... All the other stuff could still happen. Also, Wolverine doesn't recognize Gambit, so that Gambit could be from somewhere else. But we know Logan died... So this Logan is different...

But we don't know WHEN in the timeline they grab the X-men... So that's a factor too


But the Mystique angle is absolutely right
