On what planet does he have a classic album? :heh::heh::heh:

Thank Me Later? :mjlol:

Take Care? :mjlol:

Nothing Was The Same? :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

IYRTITL? :mjlol::mjlol:

WATTBA? :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Its these white suburban kids here from KTT who talk about him having a classic album

How was he that guy in 2012 when Kendrick dropped GKMC? ... or in 2013 when Eminem overshadowed him with MMLP2? :francis: or in 2014 when Forest Hills Drive dropped late? (Coles popularity gone through the roof ever since) :francis:

Or in 2015 with Futures run? :francis:

Aight so you don't wanna admit Future had the hottest year.. but if we talk about the most discussed/most critically acclaimed album of 2015 people will still try to spin it :francis:

Kendrick back to back with the classics :wow:
I was with you til you gave kendrick a stroke :smh:

In terms of reigns on top:

LL Cool J- you could argue 3 years for him with '85-'88, but in between that, you still had Rakim and BDK

Pac- '91-'96, but even then you still had Snoop in '93-'94 and Biggie

Biggie- '94-'97, you still had Pac in '95 and '96

Jay Z- '98-'02, DMX in '98 and '99. Eminem in '00.

Eminem- '00-'02. Jay Z interrupts this "reign"

50 Cent- '03-'06. Kanye interrupts this as he had '04

Wayne- '07-'11. Ross in 2010, and 50/Kanye in 2007 interrupts his reign

Drake- '11 to present. You could argue Kendrick interrupts his reign

I'd take Em out and place Nas in the middle of Pac and Big but other than that this is accurate

Yeah Drake's run is past the "flash in the pan" phase. He doesn't have the record sales to match his predecessors (different era) but he has a grip on his generation like Jay had on his in terms of what he means to them. Drake's throwaway tracks are anthems to the 16-25 demographic.

His only problem is he has no classic albums or singles. He has a lot of hits. But he doesn't have anything that 10 years from now people will be hailing as a musical classic.

This is also accurate

The 215
how yall comparing Jay Z to Drake?!?

Jay got 15 platinum albums. N*gga dropped albums every year

Drake is no where near Jay status.

N I'm not even going to get into the ghost writer shyt

Ehh......Im 27. I fully remember Jay's career. He was never as hot as Drake. Jay was never the top rapper in the game. He was always in the conversation, always in the mix but, he never dominated like Drake does. Jay was one of those rappers that after he became "Jay-Z", everybody wants to pretend like he was always "Jay-Z" but, the reality is back in the late 90s/early 2000s, DMX, Nelly and Ja Rule were bigger stars. Then 50 came and crushed buildings. Drake is the "Ja Rule/Nelly" of this generation.
