Lmao @ Take Care being a classic and even if it were the case; half the album was done by The Weeknd, the other half done by Hush.

I'm a big Bell Biv Devoe fan, never would I classify it as hiphop not sure why Drake fans feel the need to try and lump him into hiphop, he is a modern day BBD and there is nothing wrong with that.

There's a huge difference. Drake is on posse cuts with rappers rapping. His albums are predominantly rap. His biggest records are songs where he raps. I don't think highly of Drake as a rapper, but he's still a rapper.

Yeah
I based the list from public album response singles or those who had tremendous buzz at the time. The majority of them have more than one. I tried to be as unbiased as possible. I used various sources that were available including billboard.

2005: Kanye West & 50 (candy shop :takedat:)
2006: T.I. & Diddy (yes Diddy nikkas "Press Play" singles did well)
2007: Lil Wayne & Jayz & Kanye (we were spoiled :mjcry:)
2008: Lil Wayne & young jeezy
2009: Drake :whew:
2010: Drake Kanye west wiz Khalifa (kush and oj :damn:)
2011: Drake, jayz & Kanye west(WTT era)
2012: Drake & Kendrick Lamar
2013: Macklemore & Emenim & Drake
2014: iggy Azelia & Future :mjcry:
2015: wiz Khalifa Kendrick Lamar & Drake (hotline bling brehs :wow:)

Drake got 6 of them 10 years not bad :wow:

2016 is like a change of guard of everything. The older vets who been doing it 10+ years are releasing new material to see where their legacy stands, the auto tune / turn up dudes are pushing for their Era to last a bit longer, these young ass kids are relaxing mumbling nonsense on cheap beats, and the "back pack" dudes are gonna strike again (Cole/ Kendrick).

A run doesn't mean you're necessarily the #1 rapper out. It means you're on a hot streak. That being said, you can't say that Drake's run didn't start in 2009:

2009- "Best I Ever Had", "Successful", the features on "Say Something", "Money To Blow", "Every Girl", "Bed Rock", a mixtape that was free that was sold at retail that went Gold

2010- several songs from Thank Me Later were in rotation ("Miss Me", "Over", "Find Your Love", "Fancy", and non-singles like the song with Jay and the one with Jeezy), he was featured on "Moment For Life" and there was Ross's "Aston Martin Music")

2011- Take Care which had "Headlines", "Motto", "Marvin's Room", "Take Care", "Make Me Proud". There's also the Khaled record "I'm On One". Then you have Wayne's "She Will".

2012- Ross's "Stay Scheming" and everybody was on that "you wasn't shooting with me in the gym" line (nowhere near best line of 2012, but it was the one that everyone seemed to love quoting). The singles from Take Care were still in rotation.

2013- Nothing Was The Same dropped and "Started From The Bottom" was possibly the biggest rap record of that year.

2014- That year is a blur. I don't remember much of anything from Drake in 2014. I don't remember much of anyone making noise in 2014 really.

2015- "Hotline Bling", "Back To Back", the beef, What A Time To Be Alive, If You're Reading This It's Too Late

2014 Drake got nominated a Grammy for a throw away song.. 0-100

drake had a regin ? lyrically he ass and musically he is ass imo foh.
I agree...dude can't reign because too many heads disagree:yeshrug:...like Jay Nas Big PAC Wu whoever, or not, everyone acknowledges their place at the top...no one challenges Jays reign or PAC's CLEAR individual reign at the top...many question drakes tho:francis:...he is the most successful in this time and day...but he'll never get a unanimous vote:yeshrug:

Yet he will never be highly regarded :mjlol:

And try to be less of a stan. He was not hotter than em or wayne when he dropped his debut album. 2012 was also ran by 2chainz and kendrick in the 1st/2nd half respectively.

This thread is about a "reign" not a "run".

Anyone can have a run, but to reign on top is something else.
