Spoken like a nikka that didn't live though it :dame:

Longevity =/= dominating

50 Cent dominated the early-mid 2000s then fizzled out and fell off.

Jay-Z has been moderately successful for 20 years. It's a difference dumb ass.
be moderately successful with 15 platinum albums brehs.

49-0...that's all that matters

When was Jay-Z the best rapper alive? And I'm a former Jay-Z stan so I would know. In 96? No. Pac and Big. In 97? No. Big had his posthumous record. Then Mase was hot. 98-99? No. X and Eminem. 2000-2002. No. That was Ja Rule and Nelly. 2003-2005. No. That was G-Unit Mania. 2006 was TI. You could throw Yeezy in there from 04-06 too. 2007-2009 was Wayne. 2010 started off Drake's reign. When was this mythical time frame when Jay-Z was dominating the competition and the unanimous rap king? :dame: What year :dame: Jay-Z made a lot of money, married Beyonce, and became so popular that people retroactively placed him higher than he really was back then. That aint the case with Drake. He is dominating the rap industry (eventhough his status as a rapper is questionable).

drake's whole career is been based off of the hype machine and marketing. NOT his music. he makes momentary hits. less than 3 months later, everyone forgets that shyt. notice that that hotline bling disappeared off the face of the earth and it ain't even been 3 months since it came out.

On what planet does he have a classic album? :heh::heh::heh:

Thank Me Later? :mjlol:

Take Care? :mjlol:

Nothing Was The Same? :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

IYRTITL? :mjlol::mjlol:

WATTBA? :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Its these white suburban kids here from KTT who talk about him having a classic album

How was he that guy in 2012 when Kendrick dropped GKMC? ... or in 2013 when Eminem overshadowed him with MMLP2? :francis: or in 2014 when Forest Hills Drive dropped late? (Coles popularity gone through the roof ever since) :francis:

Or in 2015 with Futures run? :francis:

Aight so you don't wanna admit Future had the hottest year.. but if we talk about the most discussed/most critically acclaimed album of 2015 people will still try to spin it :francis:

Kendrick back to back with the classics :wow:
And it's only kendrick stans calling his albums classic :lolbron::lolbron:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Ehh......Im 27. I fully remember Jay's career. He was never as hot as Drake. Jay was never the top rapper in the game. He was always in the conversation, always in the mix but, he never dominated like Drake does. Jay was one of those rappers that after he became "Jay-Z", everybody wants to pretend like he was always "Jay-Z" but, the reality is back in the late 90s/early 2000s, DMX, Nelly and Ja Rule were bigger stars. Then 50 came and crushed buildings. Drake is the "Ja Rule/Nelly" of this generation.
do you remember 2013... when jay and drake both dropped albums

you want to tell us who sold more please and who was doing cable news interviews and having his shyt done in fukking museums...

jay transcends rap... drake is HOT... jay is a fukking legend... who still outsells drake and out does him in endorsements and any other type of criteria you bring up

ANY type

to be honest, I've never seen anything like Drake hits making ability. Yeah Jay, Em and few others have doing it for years WHENEVER THEY HAVE A NEW ALBUM OUT, but what Drake is doing is different. He's in-touch with what’s next, and engaging his audience on a weekly basis. Whether it's a new mixtape, a feature, a remix, out of the blue song, or even a battle song, Drake know how to make catchy songs.

Drake fans don't even worry about album delays and setbacks because he’s always giving them something new to talk about, never leaving them waiting too long. Drake knows that attention spans are getting shorter, and he’s using that to his advantage.Some rappers can do this for a year or two, Drake has been doing for 5 years at least and the quantity of his music haven't hurt the Quality so far.

Whats more impressive he doesn't rely on hot producers. He never needed Timbaland, Mike Will, Swizz, or Neptunes to make a hit. Matter of fact, he usually rap over minimal production and turn them into hot singles. "Hotline Bling" instrumental, for instance, doesn't scream a big hit. Nobody but Drake can make it one of the hottest songs of the year. He's quick to jump on off the moment young rappers like Migo, Fetty Wap and Makonnen new music though and turn them into even bigger hits. I wonder how long he can keep this up, but so far so good.

that's because he and his team have a vision, which is more than 99% of new people rapping. I've said this before but the Coli would rather stick their heads in the sand on some ostrich shyt when it comes to Drake.

Pretend like he aint dominating the shyt out of everything, for both good and bad reasons :mjlol:
