While his "who cares" comment was out of line but if you live in NYC you know the amount of resources they used for this kid was mindblowing.

Anybody who lives in New York would go :what: at the sheer extent they used for this kid. At a point it was getting redundant. It was very, very much out the norm.

I dont know what the appropriate amount of resources a city should commit to finding a lil boy are to be quite frank. Big money private interest, and our govt, appropriate a lot of resources to sht that not only doesnt benefit us at all, but often hurts us tremendously. Hard to get worked up over extra care and money being devoted to trying to find a missing autistic child.

I understand all that, and what should usually be done.

But fact of the matter is this is real life and the reality is government usually doesnt really care past a brief investigation.

But in this this situation money was pouring in from every corner of the city government for the reward. It stood at 90 THOUSAND DOLLARS. Posters literally across EVERY borough. From downtown Manhattan to the deep corners of the Bronx.

The comissioner was doing press conferences, al sharpton, the mayor. The NYPD has 30+ person teams searching, literally every day for a month. They were doing announcements on the hundreds of train platforms for weeks. And i am not exaggerating about any of this, ask anybody from NYC theyll tell you..

Lets be real here stuff like that is never done. At a point it was getting ridiculous.

Personally, I think it's just nice to see the authorities give so much time and effort into trying to find a missing black kid :manny: (no matter what the motivation might be behind it)

I think it would have been better if nobody had responded to that hateful remark.

Anyway, RIP to this child and my heart goes out to their family. The only thing left to hope, as terrible as it sounds, is that his body was found that way because of decomposition and not foul play. The way this world is today, that's almost like hoping for a miracle. People are so unbelievably heartless to those who they feel they can take advantage of

No matter how terrible the fate of a missing loved one, most families want closure, but I'm hoping it's not him. :to:
Breh...:wow:

I hope it is him.

The innocent young man has been missing for 16 weeks... The chance that he is alive & in a good situation is minute.

I can't even allow myself to think about, if he's alive, what could be happening to him right now. It hurts my heart.

This is probably the best situation right now.

Sad to hear about this kid, real talk. I'm sure most New Yorkers heard about him from all of the posters that had of him everywhere and it kept people alert just in case they happened to see him. But as time went on, you kinda felt like this day would come. Just hope that this little man wasn't the victim of some psycho because he probably suffered enough with likely drowning in that water. Clearly his family is devastated and it just sucks because people were really rallying around them in hopes of finding the kid alive.
