:mjlol: you wasting time breh you on the coli, most these cats here are in the 6 figure range and own businesses , the concept that the majority of people dont know how to handle money/ are broke because of debt is foreign to them. People are literally saying they need this money because there broke and in debt and you got dudes in here saying na your just not smart with ur debt
No it isn't. I was a teen got credit cards and was into debt like 2x my annual pay on those cards. I didn't need a condescending prick to step in and say "hey you can't keep living like this." When I got out on my own I couldn't get a good credit card my score was so low and my auto-insurance rates were based in part on my credit score and they were high. I came to the conclusion I gotta get these finances under control. Went to the credit union and they gave me a consolidation loan, cut up my cards, and mailed cancelation letters on my behalf. Almost none of my accounts actually got closed so I requested new cards and put them in a drawer. I reframed from using them until I paid off that debt. From there I got interested in the cash back game and paying interest on cash back cards is a no-no so I avoided interest.

I discovered Dave Ramsey well after I got that loan. His debt snowball was interesting. The rest was not good advice. Anything he says on debt outside that snowball is to be ignored.

Fam. Like I said. U either not black. Young with no life experience. Or a complete arrogant idiot. Choose one.
So being self-accountable makes me non-black (highly offensive) with no life experience (although I'm 32 with two kids), and we're just going to dismiss the name calling because it's petulant. Handle your business or always talk about what someone needs to be doing for you instead of figuring it out like men tend to do.

Amazon and Wal-Mart warehouses are damn near begging for help, get to work and improve your station or complain and stay where you are... Simple :yeshrug:

You don't solve a problem by avoiding it. Debt management and financial responsibility should be learned hand in hand. He's telling people to avoid debt because he had a bad go with it and it messed up his life. He sees it messing up other's lives. The reality is people need to short term focus and get out of bad debt then never get into it again.

When you do the math on what credit card debt cost you it becomes much easier. When you brainlessly use plastic to purchase things not thinking about the real cost you have a hard time controlling your finances.

What you take for granted is knowledge people don't have. I learned through experience how to manage money. I with I didn't' have to learn through experience though. It was painful.

I know plenty of well educated black people, some in my family, who have no clue how to manage money or build wealth. Hey if black people came across his videos and gained some insight, I'm glad.

Just cause I vehemently disagree with his politics, doesn't mean he is worthless.

You know damn well most people are not disciplined enough to pay off credit card balances at the end of the month. Most end up in debt trying to play the cash back game.

Also, what he says about emotional disconnect between spending cash and using credit card is backed up by psychology studies. Most people would do well to take his advice or similar advice from a black person if just don't care for dude.

Dude use to be cool and patient. But now it seems like he has become frustrated over the years of dealing with folks same dumb issues of living beyond their means, not saving, and simply waiting for someone to hold their hand to guide them out of their debt.
I stopped listening to his show years ago from the way he talked down on people. When he started going in on callers, yelling, and calling them dumb and stupid ..... I was waiting for the day when a caller snaps off on him

Yeah, dude has definitely become jaded over the years. I stopped listening to his radio show as well for the same reason. Seems like the mask came off and his true CAC personality is shining through.

I will say I DID learn about how to erase my debt and better manage my money from Ramsey and Chris Hogan. Their advice is a very good "get right" tool.
To give a math example of how debt can be. Let's say you owe $10,000 dollars on a car with 5% interest rate. After 2 years, an extra $1,000 is added to your total if you don't pay it off by then.

The same logic can be applied to tax cuts. "If a tax cut makes a difference in your life, you're life is already screwed." Also the logic against loan forgiveness can be applied to tax cuts, "You're legally obligated to pay your taxes so it's immoral to ask to pay less taxes."

You're suggesting that people at an intrinsic level don't understand that it's irresponsible to spend more than you make and pay excessive interest on credit card debt? I call bullshyt. Even when I was in debt heavy I always knew that. It was an active decision to keep paying the minimum payments and continue that spiral. It was an active decision to buy stuff I knew I didn't have the money for on a credit card and worry about the rest later.

What I'm saying is the good things he says if most people sat down and actually analyzed their situation they'd come to those conclusions naturally. Living within your means isn't a revolutionary concept Dave Ramsey invented. You're glossing over the poor decisions of others as if they don't know better when deep down they do and just actively decide not to do better. Everyone knows you need to save money for a rainy day. In order to do this you have to spend less than you make.

Short term some of the stuff Dave says is good advice. The problem is that short term for him is the rest of your life. So no people shouldn't be steered to him they should be guided to someone that's actually going to give good advice that's not broken.

Dunno how dude got so far with the simplest financial advice, plus the fact he sprinkles in Christian bs

Ramsey is a dam hustler. He got that talk like I know what I’m talking bout to people who don’t know better down pat.

His man concepts are good though if you just living check to check and want to get started on budgeting though.

Nah, breh has given good financial advice before but he deserves to catch hands for this comment right here :stopitslime:...y'all gotta stop claiming someone is ALL bad because they say something stupid ...like a nikka saying a bytch ugly because she turned him down

He’s right about the checks but his financial advice is actually not good.

My wife listens to this fukking cac retard...:snoop:
Shid you winning then. At least she is trying to be financially responsible. He gives decent advice like staying out of debt and don't create new debt. Very few people know how to use debt to their advantage. Most American are in bad shape right now because they can manage money and buy shyt they can't afford

I've always thought Dave Ramsey's financial advice was draconian and mostly unrealistic.

When everyone else was on his wave several years ago, I was said then that his advice wasnt it...

Dude will have you living in someone's basement or garage, eating crackers and bologna, and driving 1997 cash beater and trying to get from under debt the next decade. That isn't living.

Stephen Graham is the financial guru these people should be following. He’s successful and he likes to use math instead of telling you buy a 92 beat up civic. He also understands how to finance and use credit cards the right way.

He literally has the formula that I teach to people on how to get 800 credit scores yet people still blow money on credit repair people who are finessing them

$600 or $1400 shouldn't change anybody's life but the economy has been locked down for a year. Millions of people have lost their job. This is different.

He was right about everything else. Could have been more tactful tho.
