I tell my Wife all the time. If you need a break to “find” yourself, go to Belize or Miami for 3-6 months to recharge. I got us. You won’t have a single worry in the world. Just check in once a day.
My Wife was accepted to three law schools before we started. We went to Panama City in December and she decided this was the only time we would try. She ended up pregnant off that trip.
That was over her head for the next 7 years maybe. Whenever she gets angry, she thinks about what could have been. She misses the freedom and vacations. She daydreams about working and having a career.
She finally has accepted the life we built together. No more what ifs, no more daydreaming. Now it’s 100% building our family and possibly finding a new career or even taking the LSAT and applying to law schools again.
I don’t want to say I understand ole bobble head. I do empathize with a person who only knows being a wife and mother. Luckily I didn’t find my Wife until she was 28. She had 10 years of freedom and fun (whatever that means)
Coli Brehs make sure you have hard conversations with your prospective partners. Don’t let them agree with everything you want or say. Discover their dreams and values. Figure out what fills their cups. Once you marry and she pops out your babies…
She has to have a strong sense of self. If she doesn’t, them kids will fukk her shyt up.

Wifey hasn’t worked in almost ten years. I ask her all the time, “you ready to work 60-80 hours as an associate lawyer and commute in these Atlanta streets 5-6 days a week?” She says, “nope!”
but all throughout said 20 years something was always missing ("in her mind") no matter how happy she was.
