y’all are hella dramatic. They have to get themselves out before they get the kids wtf. Basically what she’s saying is as a married couple, they come first. It’s THEIR relationship not their kid’s. As parents, their kids come first. But when it comes to their marriage, they have to put each other first in order for it work. If you want your children to grow up in a two parent home, you and your spouse have to be happy and want to be with each other, so taking care of that relationship is important. That doesn’t mean you’re gonna let your kids die in a car crash.
In 2019, that's more and more less common and even then, granny not gonna do that often. Granny got a life too now.

I see nothing wrong with what she said. You knew your spouse first, as hard as that sounds. Your kids are going to grow up, lead productive lives (hopefully), move out and start families of their own.
Where does that leave you? Ya'll back to each other. That's why you HAVE to protect that marriage...it's honestly, if you know, you know. You have to be married, or hell, at least be truly in LOVE with a person to understand that...
