Another ending I think would've been cool:
Anyway The Reapers destroy everything, wrecking shyt, all Shepard's friends die, but he makes his way to the cryochamber that he found Javik in. The lid closes, the screen goes black....end of game.

Breh, you saw the outrage over the ending...you think gamers want to see ALL of their favorite characters die? Talk about none of the choices mattering at all. lol
Other than that cool idea.

There was always an ending planned where everyone dies anyway. The difference is I built in something that can continue the story. With what we have now, there's virtually no way to make a game after "ME3" that ties into the trilogy in any way.

Actually they could just do a prequel or some flashback shyt....like Gears and Halo did. You get to choose 3 options for Shep background when creating the character. No reason why they can't go back and flesh out the story of those 3 options.

They said it's a sequel breh. They even held a poll on their site, nobody wanted a prequel.

:snoop: WTF You could do so much wit a prequel, new characters including Shep everything.

  • Sole Survivor: During your service, a mission you were on went horribly wrong. Trapped in an extreme survival situation, you had to overcome physical torments and psychological stresses that would have broken most people. You survived while all those around you fell, and now you alone are left to tell the tale. The Sole Survivor's unit was slaughtered in a thresher maw attack on Akuze.
    • Sole Survivors begin the game with both bonus Paragon and bonus Renegade points and have special dialogue in the UNC: Dead Scientists assignment.
  • War Hero: Early in your military career you found yourself facing an overwhelming enemy force. You risked your own life to save your fellow soldiers and defeat the enemy despite the impossible odds. Your bravery and heroism have earned you medals and recognition from the Alliance fleet. The War Hero almost single-handedly repelled an attack by batarian slavers on Elysium.
    • War Heroes begin the game with bonus Paragon points and have special dialogue in the UNC: Espionage Probe assignment.
  • Ruthless: Throughout your military career, you have held fast to one basic rule: get the job done. You've been called cold, calculating, and brutal. Your reputation for ruthless efficiency makes your fellow soldiers wary of you. But when failure is not an option, the military always goes to you first. The Ruthless character sent 3/4ths of his/her unit to its death and murdered surrendering batarians on Torfan.
    • Ruthless characters begin the game with bonus Renegade points and have special dialogue in theUNC: Major Kyle assignment.

The possibilities :ohlawd:

TORONTO!
real simple:

- Illusive Man finds a way to control the Reapers

- Shephard defeats the Illusive Man and obtains the knowledge/power

- If you were a Paragon the majority of the ME series, you use your power to have the Reapers body themselves. Last Reaper standing, you body yourself with the whole galaxy watching. You're a hero :blessed:

- If you were a Renegade the majority of the ME series, you become the new Illusive Man and use the threat of the Reapers to elevate the human race above all others. Final battle is the non-human Council members. You body them :shaq:

- Common ending to end the Shephard storyline but leave a little mystery is that slowly the Reaper/Husk look is startin to creep up on you

They also said future "ME" games will have nothing to do with Shepard or his people. So even if it was a prequel it still wouldn't go into the background of any of the characters we know. A good prequel idea would be The First Contact War between the Turians and the humans, after the humans found the first Relay. But like I said, no prequel.

Bioware completely shyt the bed with the "ME3" ending so they're trying to distance themselves from it while still retaining the "Mass Effect" brand name. They can have that shyt man. I copped the collector's edition of those games the first day they dropped, they ain't catching me slipping ever again.

I dont think anything other than shepard some how saving the day would have made people happy, however I knew from the first game that this was an impossible war to win. sovereigns original speech clearly said there was no way he could win, the reapers existed just to wipe out entire galaxys, man never wins against nature

No man. I was on the Bioware board at the time, up to "ME3" people fully expected endings where everyone died and the Reapers won. The idea that "everyone wanted a happy ending!" is bullshyt, and has nothing to do with people's critiques of the ending.

Wherever whores go.....
Forget the ending
There were huge problems with 3rd game

I mean we hear about earth so much the first two games and we get like one level on there

We've spent tow games getting together an armada to go against the reapers. When we get no dramatic fights with the forces and the reapers. All we do is hear about it

I know it's the ends of the galaxy but I wanted to continue my relationship with Miranda :damn:

Felt like there was no final big battle for the fate of the galaxy :noah:

I know final bosses are "cliche" but I would've liked to see a final battle with Harbinger at some point.

that should show people the series not over: we never confronted harbinger and shepard was alive....also, think this explains what the main problem is with how the game did end....it's obvious the original plan was for me to end in 3 games...the leaks of the plans of original writers show evidence of this...but EA realized they were making too much money with this series and decided not to 'end' it in such a permanent way...when that decision was made was too late in the process though...bioware and the marketing machine had already started stating how this was shepard's last game and this was the final me in this arc...and even though EA had other plans they were loving all the press the game was getting, so they said fukk it and let it ride...think when me4 drops, we gonna see how the me3 ending was a 'dream' and the reapers were trying to indoctrinate shepard...

how I would've ended the game: depended on the direction I was taking the series:

if it truly was the end of shepard, would've tied me2 and the dark matter/energy into it...had shepard and harbinger met, and go at it...the state of the universe/lives of people when the battle was over would've been determined by your choices throughout the game (ex: siding with the geth; the cure of genophage, etc.)....

if the series was gonna continue, would've had the illusive man get turned by the reapers, and he would've been the main villain you had to beat at the end of 3...after you beat him, you would've found out about other spots in the universe the reapers had done this, and would've set off on the trail of harbinger....
