Shepard's story is over though, so I'm kinda confused what you mean. Bioware has said several times "ME4" won't have anything to do with Shepard or the OG trilogy. Unless they're lying. :manny:

Fred.

i think they lying cause they have to...they going with that cause that was the marketing for me3: end of shepard's story....if not, why would they have the breathing scene if you had a high enough readiness level if his story was over?....why would they (bioware employees) openly tell us to keep our saves after all the dlc was released if his story was over?.......also, I doubt it for the reason I mentioned: gamers get attached to leads...you don't switch leads just cause...like halo: you saw the uproar when they said halo would continue without MC; ms changed that shyt quick...anyway, I think when it's time to reveal or at least tease me4 (which should be coming e3 this year), the new marketing plan goes into effect and they gonna finally get to hint at shepard...if when me4 drops and i'm wrong, I have no problem admitting that, but so far, all the signs point to shepard coming back...even if it's only for the 1st half of me4 before he passes it off to the next person, he's gonna be back...

@lutha I think you're overrating how popular Shepard is. Let's be reality; none of us have the same Shepard. I beat the game with a brown skin, short hair Fem-Shep.

I don't think ppl get attached to a main character that basically becomes a voice and whatever face you want. This ain't even the same thing a having CJ having different hair & physique.

You literally pick Shepards origin story and actions throughout the series. We are Cdr Shepard. I'm sure they can replicate that.

also; I don't think there really was an "original" ending

From the Penny Arcade post; they never got to the point of picking apart each other's ideas in order to get to that point

That was one writer stating what he was lookin' for

I didn't even have a big enough fleet so I had to watch everyone die (only got the red choice)....every single character that i met and interacted with...all those choices I made which resulted in them living or dying...all for nothing...word? Bioware ain't got no love for ak? cool. I went to youtuve and watched all the endings including the extended versions.....they need to fire the writers or whoever decided to go this route with the ending(s).

fukk star kid and anybody that love him :to:

still...ME is one of the GOAT trilogies/series I have ever played...up until the last 15 mins. Now on to Skyrim and i'm done with the 360 as far as AAA titles go..

Just spent the past two months playing and beating the three games and here's my shot at an ending.

I liked the concept of "Destroy or Control" but you shouldn't have been able to make that choice right then. Instead, what happened at the end should have been just a RESULT of your actions throughout the ME series. Basically another ME2 like ending.

For instance, if you didn't destroy the collector base and your Shepard survived ME2 the illusive man should have beaten you to the punch and already begun controlling the reapers. Imagine everyone's fighting and all of a sudden it stops with the reapers somehow announcing to you that its now the illusive man in control and everyone who isnt human basically gotta get down or lay down. From there, you can launch a final assault on him and the remaining cerberus troops and depending on your military strength you and your squad die trying or are indoctrinated or you get through. If you get to him with your whole squad intact, you can convince him to destroy the reapers and himself or you kill him yourself and destroy the reapers with the crucible based on your paragon/renegade ratings.

If you DID destroy the collector base and your Shepard survived ME2, then the illusive man experiences difficulty controlling the reapers. If your military rating is high enough then they attack each other, if not then they attack each other as well as everyone else and some of your squad will die. Once in the Citadel, you are confronted by the VI of the person you let die on Virmire. They tell you how to destroy the reapers but they say the Citadel will be destroyed in the process and one person must stay back and be destroyed with it. Someone on your squad will volunteer and if you brought the one that you spared on Virmire then it will be that person. Otherwise it will be whoever is closest to Shepard out of the two that you brought,if your people managed to survive that is. With a high enough paragon rating Shepard can stop that person and do it himself. If your whole squad is there then Shepard will manage to survive like in the extended cut.

If your Shepard died in ME2 then he/she dies here regardless of what you do and another squad member carries on your mission, whether it's the showdown with the illusive man or the VI.

:camby: with that Synthesis shyt.

there's some holes here, but this is the general template that I would have followed.

:dead: at you throwing that together and it's 100x better than the ending we got.

Honestly the ONLY place BioWare fukked up at is allowing you to choose how it ended at the last possible minute. It shyts on every choice you made throughout the series. They could have had all the options that they did, but you should have been able to lead up to that point with your actions.
