the pillars and backbone of the community nonsense isn't reall true at all. most black men dont have a problem with women making more money. in fact, i'd argue that the opposite is closer to the truth. a lot of BW are scared to get into relations with BM that are economically their superior. chicks are so use to dating down that you've convinced yourselves guys are intimidated by your success.

Make Black history everyday I don't need a month

Kinda weird that The Coli only has it one month tbh. Why not do a Google and have a Black History picture up everyday or change it once a month if everyday is too taxing.
Seriously fukk a month. st0rmfr0nt's excellence banner stays up all year and changes from time to time.

well thought out point, but a lot of women are so use to their independence or superiority in relationships, they dont want to give that up to live under a mans rule. ever heard the phrase "you're bringing sand to my beach"?

whats some examples of womanist groups tackling racism outside of colorism and beauty standards. everytime i check out these black feminist sites, most of the articles are attacking black men or WW

I don't associate myself with black feminism, as you said they only seem to be concerned with colorism and beauty standards. Womanist groups are more concerned with better access to education, better paying jobs/skills training and representation within the workforce, family planning and reproductive health/domestic violence etc. There are tons of non profit/community organizations that are focused on these initiatives even within your own locale. They may not refer to themselves as feminists or womanists, but they stand for black womanhood which is why the term womanism exists. The internet may have given these black feminists a large platform to speak, but it's not representative of what black womanhood and the struggle/experience of racism means. It's very divisive, which defeats the purpose of womanism. It's goal and purpose is to address the issue of what it means to be black and a woman, and ties into the black experience and empowerment as a whole.

Not really, womanism was created to combat the idea of feminism which was not inclusionary at all. This was during the time when the feminist movement came around, and black women did not feel included, so womanism was created to intersect the idea of black womanhood and race.

I understand the idea behind the coining of the term. But black feminist organizations, "created to combat the idea of feminism which was not inclusionary", existed before the term "womanism" was ever coined. I can give you examples if you'd like. I think it's important that the history of these black feminist organizations is not overlooked or ignored because it carries meaningful lessons for activists today.

Coli nikkas who hate on black feminism only do so because they don't like the idea of issues in the black community not revolving around black men, and can't understand the concept of black women having their own issues to deal with.
to a degree, you're right. i understand BW have their own issues to deal with, but most them exist because there's not enough black men not being in the proper position. by throwing the boys off the bus and only uplifting the girls/women, you're not going to fix anything in black neighborhoods. not to slight women, but producing qualified builders and maintainers is more important at the moment.

the shyt is real basic. more qualified men means a better protected woman of that group. but instead, we wanna uplift the women only. then when some real shyt goes down, BW are looking at black men like "why aren't you protecting us :damn: "

I think we're just arguing semantics.

Based on what I've read a lot of people believe it was a ploy to take steam away from the civil rights/ black power movement. Split the Black man and the Black woman up.
why would any black person want to be in a movement like that.

I agree that most black men aren't concerned about women working. That's why when I came to thecoli and read all these posts with daps about working black women being too aggressive because they work, I was like :ohhh:.

But maybe thecoli is a different place that doesn't reflect true attitudes. Hopefully it does not :ld:

i dont see a lot of these post. i remember entire threads of dudes saying they dont mind BW working, and they would love their wives earning significantly more than them.

i think the argument is that other races of women that receive more support in their communities are often easier to deal with. i subscribe to that belief, which is why i'm against nikkas that believe its simping to provide for women.
