The Bulls went 38-21 before the break and 8-15 after, not including a 4-1 loss to the Bucks in the playoffs.

What exactly happened and what is Chicago's plan for the upcoming season?

Caruso & Lonzo both went down same time and our defense went from hovering top 5 to bottom 10. Itโ€™s not even so much how great they are on defense individually, they opened the flood gates for our interior defense to be exposed too, two fold breakdown without them.

Zach hurt his knee in December against Golden State and played hobbled all second half. This was even more frustrating than the other guys for me. I applaud him playing through injuries in a contract year, but he finally got to the big stage and was playing at like 50%. Never used it as an excuse tho

Drummond should help the interior in a pure reserve role, we lacked depth there last season and had to pick up Tristan to finish the year to patch it

Like @GoldenGlove said, the success of this team hinges on Pat Williams showing signs of why he was a top 4 pick

And we lost our defensive leaders so as the schedule improved, the better teams were able to take advantage of the lack of concentration and poor habits in that area. Adding Zo to a healthy Caruso/Williams can hopefully improve that and get us to a 4/5 seed. But Zo gotta get healthy smh. I also think LaVine's knee noticeably slowed him down and hopefully that got cleaned up and he can get back to being more of a 26 ppg level scorer than a 20 ppg level scorer. He got his contract so he's gotta perform now. We were also a very weak rebounding team, so hopefully we can throw Drummond out there when we're struggling to grab boards and he can fix that up for us.

Our best perimeter defenders (Zo and Caruso), which transformed the entire defense went down for one reason or another.

Our firepower in Zach was hurt and Billy said fukk it and tried to get Demar some MVP votes. Demar's blackhole nature didn't really bode well for winning.

This was a team that needed to be 100% to be competitive. The depth and Vuc's inconsistency wouldn't allow anything else.

Wasn't lavar ball the one that told us lavine was signing elsewhere because he didn't want to play 2nd fiddle behind derozan?

Maybe we can trust more about his information on his own sons but I'll believe it when I see it as far as lonzo.
