It's not a spotlight thing, it's a confidence thing with him. He also doesn't demand respect from the vets that he's on the floor with.
They probably are like, "You don't believe in yourself to make a play, so why should I?". The starters barely pass him the ball or even check for him when he's out there.
He should play with the bench and be featured more there. Get out in transition and just hoop. Then hopefully, that translates to him building up his confidence to the point he can be productive no matter who's on the floor with him. Dude having less than 10 shots with no Zach in the lineup from Pat is wild as fukk.
He has those stretches off the bench or when the game doesn't matter that he fukks around and puts up 20+ like it's nothing. I don't mean spotlight like he reads his press clippings, but getting those looks with the 1's to step up and be a consistent starter.
Being baby Pat the project is cute but they've been patiently giving him starter minutes and trying to get him to gel into that role and he just never does. There's a reason he balls out at times when the pressure is off and defers in moments that are meaningful and when the vets are on the floor.
He'd be much better coming off the bench and put in the spots they want him to eventually be in with the starters. Breh needs a sports psychologist too. His issue is a personality trait more than a basketball problem. They keep saying he's not aggressive, but it feels way more like he's hiding. Out there looking like he's active but in no way, shape, or form does he even want the rock.
