shyt was a musical version of a food cart offering Mexican and Chinese food . You got the street hustling rhymes, the lyrical spiritual miracles jawns, and a radio track for the ladies.

i always played "doe or die" WAY MORE than illmatic, but objectively. theres 2 or 3 cuts that drop the album down a few pegs.
its way better than "it was written" tho, and Nas clearly followed AZ's blueprint while having the luxury of a machine behind him, unlike AZ.

i always say, "doe or die" should be getting the biggie "ready to die" props at the very least.
