I love this album...

I know is such a fire song..

Mannie put some work in on that beat...

I think this album is highly underrated...

BG really expanded on this album...

It wasn't the typical BG joint..

I think it was a strong effort

i think they had a little run where Mannie was burned out and the beats just weren't the same. they're still good and there's till gems in there but this & G Code just weren't as good as some other joints. i can't even remember what lights Out was like except for Get Off Tha Corner

it's a damn shame the entire album ain't got a vid

there was a video for "I know". it was on 106th & park for a minute.

funny thing, it was bigger than Wayne's "get off the corner" single, and BG's album was doing better than Wayne's. but they aborted BG's album and kept promoting the hell out of wayne for like a whole year, and the album still didn't do much.

basically the same exact scenario with turk's album. all the way down to both of their 2nd singles being banned from TV. operations aborted.

SMH.

Norfeast groovin…
Funny, cuz this is his worst album. This is to Gizzle, what Let Em Burn was to the Hotboys. Heart of the Streetz Vol 1 shyts all over this. It's a good job, good effort on B.G. part tho.

I havnt heard it in years, but I recall "Lights out" being like the best-produced cash money album ever. wayne dropped the ball on it, so nobody ever mentions that album. im gonna have to dust that album off to see if I still feel the same way.

g-code was & still is THAT CHIT imo. the mixed reactions are just a case of there being no room for error in the '90s. one of the many bangin follow-ups to a classic legendary album that got underrated because of the album that proceeded it. 400 degreez had just dropped a year earlier and was still selling like hot cakes. I remember coppin 400 degreez just 2 or 3 months before g-code. so yea, g-code was a disappointment but it was a memorable album on the low. I was gonna do a thread on it a while ago but forgot. lol.

yup, i came in here to say i didn't like it when i first got it.

lol. yea.

we were anticipating checkmate like a champ. my bul copped it the week it dropped, and he ended up selling it to me for $10 like a few days later. he was disappointed.

truth be told tho, it was prolly one of my 5 or 10 most-played albums from that school year. a lot of addictive bangers.......but also a lot of filler.

yea, but they only aired that on underground video shows.

I miss watching urban xpressions.

:heh: yeah, that was around the time that Wayne shytted on everybody else in Cash Money except Baby by saying he pushes a Bentley and Juvie pushes a Benz.

Whole 106 and Park studio got awkwardly quiet. I know them dudes wanted to kill him. :heh:

I wish I had one. :heh: But I remember it was on like 106 and park. It was during the first time that the rumors were going around that Juvie was leaving Cash Money. It was Baby and Wayne and IIRC, BG and Fresh.

They asked what could possibly be spurring the rumors that Juvie was leaving. What could make him that disgruntled..... :lupe:

That was Wayne's response. That Juvie was pushing a Benz and he was pushing a Bentley.

:lupe: or I could been dreaming seeing it cause even though I got it in my head, I never saw the clip again.
