We used to get clowned for tellin or snitching when we was kids.
Even now I tell my lil ones to stop telling because they ready to snitch about ANYTHING whether it's important or not.
That develops bad habits when you get older and they don't have no remorse about snitching to get over on someone else.

This whole ordeal has given NBA management some ammo when it comes to raising the minimum age for players to declare early. Yes many before Russell have been drafted right out of high school and more recently after 1 year, but the league will cite this as an example regardless and spin it to serve them during the next CBA negotiation.
Russell is responsible for his own actions and the impact they will have on the club moving forward. At the same time, someone should have seen this coming and been more hands on as a mentor to him. Seems like the few vets on the club have no interests in playing that role.
