It's ironic that Fox wants to present Smackdown as more of a sports program yet the product so far has been more staged fake bullshyt than what we were getting when Smackdown was on USA.
Exactly, If they let SD be a wrestling show and just tone down the over the top shyt Vince likes it would be much better.

Everything they push to be mainstream feels inorganic, and everything that organically finds its way mainstream doesn't get mentioned, or even worse...gets turned into something hackneyed within a week.

WWE is too focused on monetized branding to really stay relevant at the right times.

By the time Becky Lynch had a THE MAN t-shirt, that shyt was tired...but when "YES!" was a movement and a sports chant, they didn't even show one clip.

:francis:Clearly Vince not seeing what made WWF/E=/=Celebrities legit from the 80s. Instead of appealing to the mainstream that still thrives off of the Attitude Era (hence why majority of the promos result in Stone Cold/Rock convo than Rollins/Kofi discussion). Go the Rock and Wrestling route. Try Wrestling and Trap movement :ehh:. Since the kiddies are into hip hop and most of the industry low key love wrestling. Invite dudes like Action Bronson to Raw. Have Post Malone do a segment with Braun Stroman. Focus on building that younger audience, than that past tier money that will never come back. The Fox deal will fukk them sooner than expected. It's not going to last long and it's going to be extremely messy :lupe:

I think that's what Master P is going to do with HOG.

Wrestling and HIp Hop.

I’ve always said in previous eras, the mainstream was kicking themselves to be involved with the WWE, whereas today (and for more than a decade), the WWE practically bend over and touches it's toes to be involved with the mainstream, and it’s very sad. I didn’t even see any of this cross promo stuff they did, but I can only imagine how much second hand embarrassment I would’ve had watching. I remember back in ‘99, the cast of Mystery and Arnold Schwarzenegger had completely natural segments and looked like they were 100% wanting to be there. There’s no way you’re getting that now unless it’s by accident (Ric Flair and Offset linking for Ric Flair Drip is a great example). I will say, Wale being included in that New Day/USO’s rap battle was an amazing segment that came off well, and that clearly was Wale and the wrestlers themselves making that happen. The WWE writers couldn’t possibly have made that appealing at all.

Putting money into smack:flabbynsick:down is a stupid idea anyways cuz it's not gonna pay off in the long run.

This whole draft thing they got going on is corny too with all the cheap acting celebrations for every draft pick.

Wrestling fake as is. You don't need to constantly remind the viewer with all these whacky try hard rip offs of real sports.

The one "real sports" thing they got right was making Brock Lesnar champion.

Just follow that lead.
