Going by your article...

However, despite Jordan’s stellar play, the Bulls lost that game and finished the month of April with a 4-8 record.

yeah that was at the tail end, when teams adjusted to the bulls. My point to dude was the 7 straight games he posted triple doubles, the bulls 5-2 record proved it worked. Teams adjusted and the bulls slumped a bit at the end.

lebron is a great player but let's be real.....he wouldn't have half those highlights driving the lane and dunking all crazy if he was in the 90's ....there are no centers or goons in today's league..

he woulda' caught an elbow to the chest and dropped by damn near every center back in the day including goons like oakley, rodman, mahorn, etc. he would be taking way more jumpers....plus his current weak post game wouldnt fly

You didn't watch basketball in the 90s.

Stop acting like you went to a Basketball game and a hockey fight broke out.

I'm SICK of people putting on this act that every game was some tough guy competition.

That shyt was strictly for the playoffs.

Actually depending on what era of basketball your talking about there were damn near hockey fights every night.

If you're just talking about the 80's then yeah, the physical play was MOSTLy for the playoffs. It wasn't just for the playoffs.

shyt was tougher back then fights broke out more than now.....but listen to stories from former players they say the same thing

you will never hear nicknames like "Detroit Bad Boys" or "Thumb N Bump" again they were given for a reason shyt was real.....stop acting like you got amnesia

NO......it WASNT.

I'm the oldest cat in here. Wasn't no tough guy shyt happening every game. If anything, defenses were complete ass cheeks back then. Boney ass niqqas like Alex English and Adrian Dantly had their way in the paint.

Let's stop this crap. Everything changed in the playoffs.

im saying the nicknames represent the type of league it was ....nba was on the cover of SI because it was being compared to hockey thats when they got more strict with fines...

but the nicknames were media driven.....

If Chuck or Mahorn actually looked anywhere close to this during their days in Philly, it's safe to say one of them would've killed Craig Ehlo and/or Mark Price during the Sixers' “flagrant foul rule implementing” playoff run of 1990. And speaking of that run, the fact that they aren't wearing their message-sending black sneakers is a crime in itself.

stuff like this would never fly in today's league its terry cloth

So Nique and Rainman weren't yamming on cats?
:mjpls:

and speaking of 94

:whew:

But, yeah 6'9" 270 Lebron would've been shook.

Every cotdam inch of GA..except the racist parts
The fadeaway and jumpers came later dog..

He couldn't shoot like that when he was young..

When he was a young beast, he yammed on EVERYBODY..

Why do ya'll keep comparing a refined, 33yr-old MJ to a 27 yr-old Lebron?

:what:

THIS is what i don't understand...if you guys are gonna compare jordan to bron, do it when they both were 27.

Lebron at 27

Jordan at 27

now you can see the huge size difference.....if both of these teams matched up its clear that no one on the bulls team would be able to handle lebron...but jordan would give fits as well....

both players are great at 27 years of age......look how much better jordan got after 27, so to say lebron won't get better is just crazy.......also i don't get why people penalize lebron and say he's been in the league since he was 18.....its not his fault that he was good enough to do so....

i actually like mikes approach to the game here...you can tell he is well beyond his years. His timing on offense and defense were masterful....and he was quick. Quick hands and had a quick bounce in his step..... gave me the chills watching his highlights. His shot still is a line drive here though....and i don't think he was using the fadaway in his 20's as much as he did in his thirties....lebron isn't a better shooter than mike....now lebron can get hot from time to time, but he's just not a better shooter.....however lebron is a better ballhandler i think.......also don't forget jordan played pg early in his career too.

now we can look at bron....he's taken his game to the block and elbows....he is just too big and fast....no one can stop him in this league...you have to make it a team effort just to stop one guy.... so as we see here mike was athletically above everyone else in his time and lebron is in this time.....as the world progresses humans are gonna get bigger and stronger....20 yrs from now there will be someone faster/stronger/bigger than lebron...it is what is is.. with that being said the guys were just smaller in the 80s......hell do you think joe dumars would be an all star today??? nah....but i can tell you this, monta ellis would be a top 5 player in the 80s.....so you have to take that into account as well.

but to be honest i can't decide who is better at 27.......but lebron has a headstart with the rings seeing how jordan was 28 when he won his first.

if lebron wins more rings, (which i think he will) then everyone will say he's the best.....either that or a 1a,1b thing.

why the HELL are you blaming players for the way the game is called now?
