Outdated business model combined with the failure to adapt to the digital space in a timely manner. I love reading books and will never forget the simple joys of going in there for Textbooks for college because our bookstore was too expensive for us broke undergrads.

I can't tell you how many books and magazines I would spend hours reading at Borders, who at one point in time was their main competitor.

If I were B&N, I would have purchased a small player in the digital content sharing platform like Scribd.

Most these companies are run by short sighted executives. Many of these companies were in positions where if they simply paid attention to where markets were going and innovation we wouldnt be seeing these types of things.

Its not like years ago these companies tried new things and failed, most of these companies are still using their initial business model they just have more locations.

adapt or die off

That's everything in life essentially. Change and adapt with the times or perish and be left in the dust. God bless the Coli.com :blessed:

It will be interesting to read the case studies on Facebook, Apple, Amazon and Google when they fail.

This is why leadership is everything in life. They can't put that in a Textbook. People are just born with that tool.

As much as I love physical books, when you traveling and wanna read something there's no better choice than your phone or a tablet.

Not to mention websites where you can get books.....let me stop :mjpls:......it's hard to picture myself getting up in 30 degree weather in NY and going down to B&N for some books, shyt just ain't the wave to me anymore. With that said it sucks those people lost their jobs so early into 2018.

That's my favorite store. Always feel at total peace and serenity in that place surrounded by all those books. Amazon probably gonna buy it out like what they did to whole foods.

Was even better working there :mjcry:

The people were mad cool

I left 3 years ago and some of the cats I knew are still there and like 70% of them got fired. Most were older people retired trying to supplement their fixed income :wow:
