Im not for the exploitation of any ppl, especially ppl who work in sweatshops.
As a matter of fact, I started making my own shoes out of used tires, cardboard paper towel rolls, socks, cotton balls, and dental floss

So where is the outrage from the Hip Hop community towards sweatshops? I've never seen it. Thats because the Hip Hop community ignores it.....so if the sweatshop issue is the bigger evil and the Hip Hop community ignores it then they should also ignore what Jay is doing.
I remember when Sean Combs was ducking and hiding from the sweatshop controversy aimed at him towards his Sean John clothing. I saw no outrage from the hip hop community. So when I see this so called outrage towards Jay and Barneys..its comes off as fake. Thats all I'm saying.

.I know the money is going to fund schollys for our people, but I just can't fukk with Camel still associating with these clowns. Just can't do it man. That's some c00n shyt.

I'm a lil madd that some of the shyt is flyy as fukk.
I'll be a hater on this one of the strength of jay running for c00n of the year 2013. He wants that cac acceptance sooo bad, I feel sry for him.
I salute yall n1ggas for throwing your own blackness under the bus to support a rapper that wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire..

Smart move... The image of a bunch of old money and trust fund Madison Ave cacs drinking champagne served by working class Puerto Ricans would be a bad look at this point...Even if they were gonna throw a few crumbs at the "coloreds" in the name of reperations...
This is a terrible argument, you can't base your claims on what you haven't heard at a barbershop. That's #1.
#2. News has always been tailored to local issues within your community. In this case it's natural that people would care more about this issue than where the shoes come from. He isn't stating issues abroad aren't acknowledged greatly ... but they certainly aren't given the same attention as ones here of equal, or even slightly lesser importance.
#3. That event was reported in the NYTimes which definitely has a larger readership than The Source. (http://www.nytimes.com/2003/10/28/n...on-line-is-tagged-with-a-sweatshop-label.html)
well the difference is blacks taking issue with a black problem. sweatshops are an atrocity but it's happening over there![]()

Which further proves my point of phony outrage. The people are nagging at one thing while overlooking a greater evil.
it doesn't prove your point. 15 acts of evil happened as i typed this sentence. we pick and choose every day and it's usually the stuff that we're interested in or relates to us. is michael j fox phony for not being active in support of finding a cure for HIV? Nah, we devote our energy into certain things and hope others devote theirs how they see fit. hopefully it covers the spectrum of fukked up stuff that goes down daily
If you so worried about the lack of talk about sweatshops, bring it up next time you are at the barbershop. Next time they discussing the new nikes, tell em about how you feel about the sweatshops. You know you can talk about anything you want at the barbershop and you might be suprised by some of the answers you get.It does prove my point because I've never seen prolonged outrage in the hip hop community over sweatshops like I have with this Jayz/Barneys nonsense. You expect me to take this Jay Z/Barneys outrage serious when sweatshops are a greater evil that gets looked over by the Hip Hop community?? I cant do it. I have seen the Hip Hop community go goo goo ga ga over the most expensive Jordans tho. Those expensive Jordans that some malnourished underpaid korean put together in a dirty sweatshop. I dont take it serious when something worse has been overlooked and thats why I will point out such outrage as phony.
