I don't know, I think it's possible that it is validating and normalizing it. Saying that White supremacy is so pervasive that police brutality against Black persons now must be dealt with at the national level was a relatively fringe position...now they're sort of saying that anyone who thinks Trump is over the edge could cosign too.

I agree that the message and the effective steps which must be taken next both need to be reinforced...but if the opportunity is taken, they might be reinforced in an atmosphere where people are ready to take it seriously.
