Manny Ramirez was one of the best 5 hitters in the game in Boston.I don't think anyone's gonna debate either point necessarily, BUT, hardly does it merit any sort of chatter amongst awful contracts like the ones mentioned. Like I said, a 4 year deal at 37 years old, he gave you 2 good years, 1 he barely played and one where he sucked, his final year. All in all, you'll take it, because for whatever Jeter lost defensively, he had the bat to more than make up for it.
What's next? Manny Ramirez's tenure in Boston was a disaster because he couldn't field 310 feet of real estate?
