2013 playoffs was a glimpse into the future.

Steph's 3rd quarter in the game 4 vs Denver

Game1 vs Spurs (blowing a huge lead late
)Klay on fire in game 2

Loved that little playoff run. Great times.

EDIT: Lowe is both a great writer and analyst.

Teams just have to step up their play (eg. less turnovers, score on Warrior turnovers, forget bad call/missed shot and get back in transition, run plays).
Lol, basically the shyt they SHOULD be doing anyway. But then it can be simple as their OPEN guys are making shots and yours are not. They made 50/100 shots, your team made 38/100 shots![]()
Has anyone investigated whether the PG threw that contest to instill confidence in his SG? It seems like something the Warriors would do. Scumbag organization![]()

No they can't be stopped but, you can force them into situations they least like to be in. To me that would be iso ball. They do this the least of any team in the league and that's why they are the best offensivley. They will still get their but if you can force them into a higher percentage of iso's and eliminate the high screen n roll/pop with curry and draymon,(which the real key to their offence) you have a chance.
I would also consider the off ball screens for curry by draymond the same concept.
, getting steals, loose balls/offensive rebounds) curry usually benefits.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree here. I just think Steph's conditioning is ridiculous and can overcome that obstacle. Dude ran the most miles on an NBA court last season in both the regular season and play-offs, but it looked like everyone else was gassed compared to him.
Exactly. I've been saying for the longest, curry isn't an ISO type, breakdown the defender, score at will, 1 man army player like kobe, MJ or even iverson.
How his team goes, is how he goes. When the team is clicking (moving the ball, cutting, setting illegal screens, getting steals, loose balls/offensive rebounds) curry usually benefits.
He's being set up for 3s perfect, so much that it's almost like shooting drills especially against stupid defenders.
It would make sense to make the Warriors go 1on1. Or eliminate their playmakers from just controlling the game.
But you can't stop curry, if you don't stop the team.
Even if you do stop curry, klay will probably get you. And Draymond will do whatever's left to be done![]()
I also want to put this on record, as I said you don't stop curry or the warriors but, you can force them to do what they least like to do and be less efficient. Again that would be iso ball, which they do less then anyone and, why they are such a great offensive team.
The off/on ball screens with curry with draymond are what really kill teams. If you don't show on curry its 48% chance they get three. If you do show Draymond gets it at the top of the key for a jump shot, drive layup, or what he likes to do the most, suck defense in an kick to corner threes(easiest 3 in basketball). Also if you notice when green catches it he is already looking to throw to corner because he know its going to be open, he doesn't even have to think about it. Everbody now involved getting easy buckets killing teams.
The way to minimize this is to switch.
This will limit easy pull up for curry and and severely limit draymond's playmaking because there are no more 4 on5 half court breaks he likes to take advantage of. Now for curry to score its iso pull up. For draymond to score its iso posts on switch man. Shooters in corner are no longer open.
The only problem is the mismatches on the screens. A 5 on curry a point on draymond. So the key to defending them is personel that can interchange relatively well between curry defender and draymonds. I think you need a big perimeter guy who can move on steph and one on draymond. Again, not to stop them but to be able to force them into bad iso jumpers and post.
That's why I think where Joe Johnson goes is huge. He is a guy to fit the role of guarding(not stopping) steph on perimeter then switching to draymond of screen and (guarding not stopping him in the post). You add him to cavs switching with lebron or thunder switching with durant now you got something.
Again you just want them to be closer to normal effenciency and see what draymond, iggy, and barnes going to do when they not wide the fukk open all game long. And if curry for 4 games kill for 40+ on high fg% while taking of the dribble threes. Then he the goat n it is what is. But thats what you live with.
Subs
-Force Warriors to be less efficient by limiting screen game through switching
- Must have personel in that is interchangable between green and curry defender
- Joe johnson with another big mobile perimeter defender(lebron, kd, ect) fits this strategy

Nope. When healthy he can't be stopped

Too much switching will get you killed against these warriors. Because eventually they'll get a mismatch either small on big or big on small. It's also how easy lay ups are gotten.
I don't like joe Johnson at all for cavs. He's almost 35 he ain't running around guarding curry or klay like that. Or even Barnes. He'd get eaten up.
Honestly I think it's just the warriors have that many good players. When you're backcourt can drop it from 25+ feet your pf got handles and you got literally 5-7 good shooters and 2 good wing defenders, it's basically impossible to win a 7 game series against that. Curry is special, klay and draymond are great in their roles and others play their roles to their strengths. Another ring for them.
